My son and daughter love their packs. Just big enough to carry some essentials. Kids will bite through the bite valve, but you can replace them with Nalgene replacement sheaths (part #2353-0012) 2/$4. Not a bad deal.

My six-year-old daughter loves this pack! We do many day hikes and she insists on bringing it every time. Last summer we did a seven-mile round trip overnighter into the Wenaha Wilderness. She packed about 7 pounds total which include all of her clothes, hydration bladder, some snacks, her water bottle, and her flashlight. She loves to tell people that she packed her own stuff. I love that my pack was seven pounds lighter!
