From Campmor:
"Komperdell's Contour Titanal poles are fully adjustable, telescoping poles that offer a variety of high end features plus a compact carry size for travel and easy storage. They feature a new foam grip extension, Automatic Comfort Wrist Strap and the new Stop Lock System. Ultralight Titanal HF aluminum alloy shafts are high density and allow for smaller tube diameters without sacrificing strength. 3 sections of 16/14/12 mm and adjust from 69 cm to 140 cm. (27 in. to 55 in.) Thermo foam grip material is comfortable and lightweight. Automatic comfort straps: adjust without the use of a buckle for convenience. Lined with a soft, quick dry wicking material for comfort. Foam Grip Extension: additional gripping area on upper shaft to handle switchbacks and abrupt changes in terrain easily. Duolock adjustment system requires only one turn change pole length. This unique system presses the adjustment expander parallel onto the inside of the pole tube as opposed to diagonally like other systems do. The result is up to 80% more stability with the same holding strength. Stop Lock System - keeps the poles sections together to avoid accidental separation when adjusting the length. Vario Mini Baskets included. Carbide Flextips: concave, cylindrical tips offer secure hold on all terrain and surfaces; Carbide is extremely hard and durable; entire tip ferrule (Flextip) is replaceable. Minimum storage length 69 cm (27 in.). Weight: 232.5 grams each (8.2 ounces each). Color: Silver and Red. Import."

"These are light and sturdy poles, but they have annoying glitches that were enough of a disappointment for me to take them back to the store and get my money back. The store owner agreed with my complaints and suggested that he knew of others with had the same issues."

"I hiked from Mexico to Canada in 03. Twice in the Sierras I post holed and feel against my poles. I expected to pull out a bent stub but there was not a sign of a bend both times. The High Sierras is not a place for equipment failure. I am doing the PCT again this year with the same poles."

"One day this summer a group of friends and myself went on a hike in the Austrian Alps. Our goal was the summit of a 3300m high mountain called "Muntanitz". As we wanted to start, I realised that I have forgotten my poles at home. A friend of mine offered me to use his Komperdell Contour Titanal poles for these two days because he doesn't use them often anyway."
