These insulated and burly mountaineering boots are built for high-altitude, cold-weather climbing on mixed snow and ice. Expedition-worthy, silicone-impregnated, 3.2mm premium leather uppers offer the finest in natural breathability and waterproof durability. High-rise sticky rubber rand stands up to rock abrasion and crampon wear. Feet-warming, hydrophobic and fast-drying Thinsulate® insulation throughout protects from the constant cold of extreme altitude. 9mm Ibi-Thermo insoles are a cork-like material that stiffen & help insulate. HDPE plastic midsoles provide mountaineering stiffness and stay strong in extreme cold while eliminating the weight and chill of a steel shank. Roller lacing system, locking D-rings and lace loops allow for effortless on and off even with gloves on. Patented EZ flex and EZ Volume Adjust provide a comfortable custom fit to almost any foot. Durable, high-traction, Vibram® lug soles are step-in crampon compatible. - REI
