Best tent I have had, ever! So I got this tent as…

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Source: warranty replacement

Summary

Best tent I have had, ever!

Pros

  • waterproof
  • roomy
  • lightweight

So I got this tent as a warranty replacement for the Marmot Swallow 2P. I'll be honest that I was biased against it only because the Swallow was such a good tent and didn't think anything could replace it.

Well, after speaking with Marmot's customer service and warranty people over and over again, watching Curly's Clips on youtube, and just generally taking a leap of faith with it, I chose this tent and took it to Malahat and China Beach in BC.

First impressions: VERY easy to set up, strong DAC poles, and VERY easy to break down and store. I opted for the footprint and gear loft in addition (sold separately) and was very pleased that during a day-long downpour in China Beach, not a drop got inside the tent even with the vent fully open.

Bug protection was nice as I'm from San Diego and we don't really have mosquitoes here but they sure did in BC and they were disappointed by the mesh of the tent body. Plenty of room for my wife and I (we're quite tall people) and the vestibules had enough room for my 110L and her 80L backpacks.

All in all I love this tent and will recommend it to anyone who wants to get a new tent that is waterproof, breathes well, and has enough room for two people.
