From Backcountry.com:
"The Metolius Supercam fits in a drastically larger range of cracks than normal camming devices. After two years of design and testing, Metolius unveiled an unprecedented asymmetrical design with different sized cam lobes. The smaller lobes rotate faster than the larger ones, allowing a full 270-degree rotation. This lets the Supercam use the normally untouched back side of the cam lobe for a drastically increased range of use. The trigger wires are made of easily replaceable Kevlar cord instead of wire, making the individual cam lobes free floating so they conform perfectly to the rock."
From REI:
"After 30 years of camming, Metolius engineers have reinvented active pro improving range and performance. Super Cam's innovative design extends each piece's usable range while smaller cam angles improve holding power. Asymmetric design allows the smaller cam lobes to pass within the larger cam's arc, to use what was a previously unused portion of each cam. Flexible U-shaped framework for greater durability and unparalleled control during placement and retraction. New Range Finder markings improve placement; reduced cam angle and increased cam width improve hold. Ranger Finder markings eliminate guess work: Green Zone for go, Yellow Zone for caution or trade up sizes and Red Zone for stop! Cams of super-durable 7075-T6 aluminum feature an aggressive Shark Fin tooth pattern for increased set strength during the initial load. Bar-tacked nylon slings are color-coded for quick, easy identification."
From US Outdoor Store:
"Metolius Supercam With the Supercam, Metolius has gone back to the drawing board! With two years of painstaking effort, we revisited all the design assumptions that have been built into camming devices for the last 30 years. We’ve designed a new generation of extended-range cams, and they are improved in every way! The Supercam has extended the camming range well past that available with other designs while still retaining the increased holding power and safety that can only be achieved with the smaller cam angle of 13.25°. This safer cam angle increases the outward force by a critical 10% over other brands with larger cam angles. The cam faces have more than 30% extra contact surface compared to other brands, making rock fracture much less likely. Our new aggressive, ratchet-style (Shark Fin) tooth pattern helps to set the cam during the initial load up event of a fall. The Supercam is a perfect example of our underlying design philosophy: safety, simplicity, reliabi"
