Description
Mountainsmith’s Ivy (women’s) and Needle (men’s) classic alpine packs are designed to carry skis, snowboards, snowshoes, climbing gear, and backcountry tools with comfort, bombproof reliability, and minimalist design. The packs’ multi-use compression system can carry snowboards and snowshoes (vertically) and skis (diagonally or with an A-frame carry).
The Ivy and Needle both feature gear attachment points on the front side, tool attachment points, and dual ice ax loops that tuck away. The detachable lid converts to a lumbar pack and there’s a gear loop inside the lid and dual-collared storm shield with draw cord closure. Hydration-compatible with a single exit port, the Ivy and Needle have hydration sleeves and a bite-valve catch on their sternum straps.
The Ivy has been discontinued.
