I have had an Elixir 2p for several years that I soloed with and my son joined me in, but now that my daughter is finally big enough to join us, we needed more space.

We took this into Garibaldi Lake last week for my daughter's first three-day trip to Panorama Ridge and Black Tusk. It was fantastic. Our Exped double mattress plus one BA single fit with room to spare and it held all of our gear inside as well.

The vestibules are well designed and offer a lot of space, but I don’t like to put our packs in this space, I prefer to keep the gear inside where it won’t get muddy in our PNW weather, so it’s plenty of room for boots, socks and poles.

I bought the BA mtnGlo string of led lights which fits the tent well. It rained/snowed the first night and reached around -3°C but we had no problems with any water ingress. The bathtub floor is a great feature. The next night was completely clear and we kept warmer with it only reaching around -1°C.

I would recommend this tent to anyone who wants a solid 3-season tent for a young family. It could solidly hold four people, but it’s better used as a three-man with gear.
