From REI:
"Osprey's best-selling women's backpack carries heavy loads comfortably with impressive load transfer to hips, saving your back and shoulders. To customize your fit, take your torso and hip measurements following our instructions in the "How to Fit a Backpack" clinic (see link at lower left). Optimizing fit and load transfer is ReCurve Suspension, consisting of Foam-X (polyethylene) framesheet, twin aluminum stays and dual fiberglass struts. Hugging the sidewall, ReCurve fiberglass composite struts create a pre-tensioned lift mechanism, actively transferring load and resisting sag. Load-lifter straps act with ReCurve struts and framesheet to draw load snug against your back for increased control and stability. Interchangeable, laminated HypurCell shoulder straps are specifically designed for women--angular and lean to prevent pinching, bulky discomfort. Complete access to main compartment with top-loading and front zippered access (protected under right compression flap). Side pockets, one zippered and one mesh, keep essentials handy and secure, plus double as slots for hauling skis in the traditional A-frame style. Hydration-capable lid pocket converts to a fanny pack with hidden hipbelt and features compression straps for lashing on day tripping gear. Standard issue on this pack, the 500-cu.-in. Solo Excessory front pocket can be removed and converted to a daypack with its own harness. StraightJacket compression wings allow you to securely compress the contents of the pack whether full or nearly empty, without sag or load distortion. Wings buckle across the front when full; for smaller loads, connect straps to buckles at the edge of the backpanel, cinching one panel over the other. Externally accessible sleeping bag compartment accommodates synthetic or down sleeping bags. Rounding out this full-featured pack is D3 Spacer Mesh on backpanel, promoting airflow and wicking moisture during warm weather and intense activity."
