Buff Original Buff

rated 3 of 5 stars After getting used to it, wearing the Buff has added a layer of protection from the elements, while doing a fine job of wicking away moisture. The Original Buff is 100% polyester microfiber, seamless, and is very soft. It's actually softer than that really old, worn-out T-shirt you can't get rid of. And for any of you who have one of those old T-shirts, you know how incredibly soft that is.  At the heart of the Buff is adjustability and versatility. The company shows 13 different ways to wear it. Full review

Buff Merino Wool Buff

rated 5 of 5 stars The versatile and simplicity of the BUFF makes it the number 1 necessity when traveling, hiking, or camping. I've never carried a piece of headwear with me so much. My fiancé swears she's going to throw it away someday! She's tried buying me other hats or even another BUFF, but only the BUFF Merino Wool will do. I mainly use it as a neck gaitor, beanie, or balaclava. Very versatile and useful when camping in cold weather or sitting at home. Highly recommend this my friends. I'm an unpaid spokesperson. … Full review

Buff Merino Wool Buff

rated 5 of 5 stars Yep, merino wool does stay soft and comfortable for "allergic" wearers. Longer than the regular synthetic Buffs, same multiple options, no worries about melting at the campfire or smelling over time. I bought another for my daughter's birthday to wear on campus -- very stylish. Yep, merino wool does stay soft and comfortable for "allergic" wearers. This is the first time in over 50 years I've bought a wool product, and I am impressed. The wool Buff is several inches longer than the regular synthetic… Full review

Talus ColdAvenger Expedition Balaclava

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I keep this piece of gear with me all the time now. Keeps moisture off my face and my whole body warm. Two-piece system is nice. You can stuff the ventilator in your pocket and just wear the balaclava. Full disclosure, I work for Talus and have been an avid outdoorsman my whole life. I love being out in cold weather and this product helps me stay comfortable all day long.  While there could be some improvement, this is the best mask I have used so far.   The balaclava hood seems big, but gets… Full review

Buff Original Buff

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Original Buff will give you the confidence you need to tackle all outdoor tasks. The first thing I did last Thursday was rush to my mail box to open the package that had my Original Buff inside. As soon as I placed it on my head, my entire world changed. A few of the things that happened were I could protect my neck, face, and ears from the sun all at once! I felt totally rad when I used its skull cap mode, kinda like a pirate. The ladies seem to totally dig it. Another thing you will find with… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Hardface Stretch Convertible Balaclava

rated 5 of 5 stars Keeps your face nice and warm! I don't know about you, but when the temps drop, and especially when the wind is blowing, my face gets really cold. And who wants to breathe in all that chilly air? There are times when a warm beanie just won't do it all. So I bought this item for dog walking on chilly mornings and for winter hiking and camping. It's made of "stretch fleece"; a woven outer side backed with soft fleece inside against the skin. It dries quickly when damp from sweat and condensation… Full review

Matarik Powderhound Bandanna

rated 4 of 5 stars This balaclava mask is designed for powder days. It will keep you warm in the harshest conditions. This neck gaiter is waterproof breathable with a zippered vent on the front for breathability and moisture control. I tried this thing out skiing and it worked great. When I was on the lift and it was snowing sideways I zipped it closed. When I was charging hard I unzipped it and was able to breathe. I would make a few modifications though; Less is more. It seems that the ski mask could do without… Full review

PolarWrap Exchanger II

rated 5 of 5 stars Helps keep core temperature. Reduces condensation inside tent or tarp. I initially purchased the Polar Wrap Warm Air Mask for the heat exchanger, to use my out-breath to warm my in-breath because Montana winters are severe. This helps maintain my core temperature. For backpacking, it is my experience the Exchanger II does not impede my breathing at all. I also found out I am able to extend the sleeping bag or sleeping quilt comfort rating to lower temperatures. I also do not have the same condensation… Full review

Seirus Ultra Clava

rated 5 of 5 stars It definitely is worth the money. The outer shell of neoprene does seem to keep the water out. I ran water on it in the shower and the water does shed off. In heavy rain conditions I will have to see if it passes the test. It definitely keeps you warm. I actually had to tuck the mouth and nose area under my chin since I started to sweat in mild labor conditions in 40 degrees or more. I wanted to keep the front area around the mouth intact for heavy rain conditions. The fleece lining by the mouth… Full review
