User Review: Ozark Trail 10' x 8' 2-Room Cottage Cabin (#WMT-1080)

Rating: rated 1.5 of 5 stars
Design: Cabin tent with poles
Ease of Setup: It works well. It helps to mark the ends with plastic tape so that the framework is simpler to work with.
Weight: The model is in your catalog.
Price Paid: - $100

The tent is well-made, and good attention to details.
It is well marked. It is basically a good tent for moderate price.

However, the shortcomings are significant. I camp in the Pacific Northwest in the Puget Sound region. There are 4 kinds of weather that we have here. (Sometimes all on the same weekend.) Heat, cold, wind, rain.
The tent does well in the wind. (Provided it is staked down well). Heat is not much of a problem since it is ventilated.

COLD Can't heat it because of the net ceiling. An 8x10 tent should heat easily with 1-2 tea-light candles. This tent will never heat up in the cold!

RAIN! The greatest problem with this tent is rain!
The rainfly is impossible to pull taut. Thus the water puddles in places on the rainfly and there is a constant drip from a dozen, or so, places. VERY uncomfortable.

The framework needs a bar across the framework so that there is a slant to the roof. It is a flawed design. Some loops inside the tent at the top of the walls would be helpful, but not a problem.
