REI Zephyr +20

Source: bought it new
Price Paid: Around $70
Lightweight and warm for its size.
- Very warm even down to the 30s
- The pocket in the bag is easily accessible
- Doesn't compact into a compression bag very well
I brought this bag with me to Philmont and have since used it on a good number of outings with the Scout troop. Although it doesn't weigh very much, the bag doesn't compact down much smaller than what you'd get using a normal stuff sack, taking up valuable room in your pack.
The coldest night I've been in it was around freezing (30° F) and I was perfectly warm, even as a skinny guy with little body fat.
Overall I'd recommend this to someone who's looking for a fairly priced, light, and warm bag.

The REI Zephyr +20 sleeping bag keeps you warm when the temperature drops. At this price, you won't want to miss out! REI-exclusive Z-Baffle construction combines 2 insulations that together maximize heat retention far more efficiently than a single insulation. Mummy shape is thermally efficient, yet roomy enough from shoulder to knee to ensure sleeping comfort. Hood, insulated muffler and full-length zipper draft tube keep heat in and cold out. Exterior chest pocket is great for stowing small necessities such as your watch, eyeglasses and lip balm, alleviating middle-of-the-night fumbling. Special pocket can be stuffed to make a pillow that stays in place; no need for a pillow to take up valuable space in your backpack. Pad loops provide attachment points to keep your sleeping bag and pad together, so you needn't worry about rolling onto the cold ground (straps not included). Differentiated drawcords allow quick identification, even in the dark-neck or hood adjustments are a cinch! Ripstop nylon shell offers durability with abrasion- and tear-resistance for years of use. Nylon stuff sack and cotton storage bag are included. Right-hand zip. Special buy.
