User Review: Scarpa Alp M4
Rating: ![]()
Materials: Leather - semi stiffened
Use: mountain
Break-in Period: few days
Price Paid: £120 (3 years ago)
A heavy duty mountain boot, capable of taking articulated but not step-in crampons.
Sole is Scarpa's own. Some what more open than a standard Vibram. Doesn't clog but occasionally grabs small stones.
The've been incredibly comfortable once broken in. That involved some nasty blisters after a hard day's scrambling on the Dubh ridge, Isle Of Skye.
Good comfortable boots that are wearing well. They were bought as a replacement for a pair of Scarpa Bronzo's (now discontinued) which lasted about 10 years and three soles, so I'm quite confident of the longevity of these.
