The Asp tent, named after a poisonous African snake, is an ultralight 2-person shelter (it also comes in a 3-person option). The tent weighs 4 pounds, 14 ounces and is made of a 40-denier nylon on the body to reduce weight and a 70-denier nylon on the floor for strength. Constructed with the award-winning Reverse Combi Technology, the Asp has 34 sq. ft. of livable space as well as two doors and excellent venting capabilities. This is a great ultralight shelter for backcountry, beach, and river trips as the Quick Pitch Swivel Hub locks the pole sections in place and makes for an extremely easy set-up.

"For 2007, Sierra Designs has discontinued the Hyperlight Series Tents and improved upon their design with the new Asp 2 and 3-person tents.The new Asp has double doors for easy entry and exit and makes better use of floor space for you and a friend.The main vestibule in the Asp is twice as large as the Hyperlights and a secondary vestibule with a bit more room for the second door.The weight stays under 5 lbs which is good for a two-person tent with this much room.Bottom Line: The Asp 2 Person tent is a roomy, light 2 person tent great for backpacking, camping and hiking."
