Sierra Designs Meteor Light Tent (Spring 2008) - Add Meteor Light Footprint to Cart for FREE with Tent Purchase One of the most copied tents in history, the Meteor Light Tent by Sierra Designs is the only shelter ever to win the Backpacker in.Editors' Choice Goldin. award, way back in 2001. A mainstay in our line for two decades, the editors at Backpacker recognized its utilitarian function and design. We nail the details in our tents, which account for the buzz about 'em. For example, the pole sleeves start high on the Meteor Light, meaning you can stake out the tent first, then slot the poles. The next time you build camp in a windstorm you'll be thankful we thought ahead. The Meteor Light's also great for tall customers, with a peak height of 43 inches and a sturdy, three-pole design. From Altrec Outdoors:
"The 2001 Backpacker magazine Editors' Choice Gold award winner for utilitarian function and design, the Sierra Designs Meteor Light Tent is one of the most copied tents over the past twenty years. Not resting on it's reputation, this tent is updated with a thicker diameter and thinner walled DAC pole that offers the highest strength-to-weight ratio available on the market. For quick set-up and 60% greater strength, color-coded webbing guides the pole placement, Swift Clip pole hooks allow for faster pre-stakeout, and locking pole tips maintain grommet contact during set-up. Classic dual door entry provides easy access to your gear, and promotes free-flowing ventilation throughout the roomy vestibule. With a peak height of 43 inches, the Meteor Light thankfully gives more maneuvering space for your hiking buddy 'Too Tall'. Efficient, economical, and comfortable, the Meteor Light continues to be the standard with convenience design updates."

1) Dripping! In wet weather the flysheet will sag, touching the tent mesh top roof--you get drips onto your face or sleeping bag's lower area (depending on your orientation)."
