Lensatic 360

rated 5 of 5 stars Sturdy, reliable version of the Engineer's liquid-damped lensatic compass. My Silva Lensatic 360 compass has proven to be sturdy, reliable, and accurate compass for wilderness navigation. It is not made by Silva of Sweden but by Johnson Outdoors, who own the Silva brand name in North America and who source this compass from a manufacturer in Taiwan (Manufacturers in both Japan and Taiwan have supplied thousands of these liquid-damped lensatic compasses over the years, some better made than others). Ranger CL

rated 5 of 5 stars This compass is one of the best out there. Very durable, accurate, and easy to use. The Silva Ranger compass has been the benchmark for over a half century. Used by outdoorsmen, contractors, surveyors, silviculturists, miners, and anyone who needs to rely on the best directional instrument the world has to offer. I have used the Silva Ranger for over 40 years years, and found it to be the easiest to use, and the most accurate and reliable compass, through all types of weather and temperatures. Although… Full review

Explorer Pro

rated 5 of 5 stars A high quality baseplate compass with many functions at a low price point! Declination adjustment, clinometer, and magnifier all for under $35. Silva carries a lifetime warranty on this compass, and it is a super product. This compass is great to work with for planning, and when out in the field! The measurements of the compass: 2.125" x 4.1875", weighing in at 1oz. The high visibility bezel really helps!  The dial is easy to turn, and has 2˚graduations. The compass has a gear driven adjustment… Full review

Guide 426

rated 0.5 of 5 stars A bubble appeared in the fluid the first time I used it on the altitude 2500m. Compass stopped to work. The bubble disappeared on the sea level. Do not recommend Silva compasses.     Full review

Starter 1-2-3

rated 5 of 5 stars Great simple hiking compass. Run some para-cord to a buttonhole, and drop her in your shirt pocket, even if you go without your pack, it is always with you. I always like to be aware of my basic heading, and take readings periodically when off the hiking trail. I do have a backup in the rucksack, but I run the Starter as my main. After 11+ years in the military with the S&Y lensatic compass, you would think that is what I would run now, but the 1-2-3 does the job just fine without the bulk/weight,… Full review
