I have to agree with my fellow X-Lander owners. The straps are what let a great watch down badly.

Fortunately I found a Nato watchband in Kevlar of all things, had it three years now and still doing the business.

I say 3 stars only because the band SUCKS! The watch was great, never had a problem with the functions. When I called Suunto to ask about a replacement band they said they knew it was a problem and that I would have to buy the replacement! Piss on that. I just finally got sick of my band falling apart and asked for an Observer with the elastomer band. I am planning on getting the new all black X Lander with rubber band shortly.

The watch itself is OK. The straps are poor. Estimate to buy a new one every year by normal use. They don't stand up normal standard use. I’ve tried different original types – all the same. And they are NOT cheap to buy.
