Arc'teryx Men's Atom LT Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the perfect vest! Make sure you try it on store to get the right fit, but it works as a perfect mid layer and an outer layer in slightly warmer weather. I've used it to hike, bike, backpack, sleep, and I even wear it to work as it's a pretty neutral and stylish vest. Overall 5/5. Full review

L.L.Bean Men's PrimaLoft Packaway Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars I had been looking for a lightweight, but warm, vest to wear under my anorak shell, and it seems that recently the packaway style vests have become very popular. I was not convinced that this light, easily packable, vest would add much warmth, but I was wrong! It is very comfortable, and work great under a shell, or alone over a base layer, for winter hiking and snowshoeing. I expect this vest will serve nearly year-round duty. This is a really nice vest, which has surpassed my expectations...from… Full review

Arc'teryx Men's Atom LT Vest

rated 4 of 5 stars Great extra bit of core insulation for over your base layer or under your main puffy. I often run really warm while I'm moving, but cool down very fast when I'm done for the day. I often bring only a very thin base layer and windshirt, even when quite cold, and then use a thicker than expected down jacket for when I'm done. I often think of bringing a fleece so I have something for on the move, or for when it gets extra cold to wear with my puffy, but because of bulk and weight I often don't. Last… Full review

Recreation Before Responsibility Nylon RipStop Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars First off, top notch materials, for the hardcore adventurers to staying warm around the fire this is an amazing product. Great fit, function is well thought out, and tailored design meet fashionable and functional. I have tried the jacket and vest, the thought in how the garment is made and assembled is really notable when you are on a long hike or lounging around and forget that you are wearing the garment. The longer tail in the back covers you when you move around and are not surprised by a cold… Full review

Recreation Before Responsibility Nylon RipStop Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars Although there are many choices in this modern world of high-tech outdoor gear, this vest makes my day, every day. While its fabric, materials, and construction details are top notch bomber, yes really, I am extremely stoked on the fact that everything is handcrafted in America using sustainable practices. They have figured it out and are doing it right on all levels. Go, RBR! Full review

Recreation Before Responsibility Nylon RipStop Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A basic, very functional vest from a very unique company. I admire old school, low tech ways to get things done. However, I also admire hi tech fabrics and technologies. I also wish more of our stuff was made responsibly in the U.S. It seems like these sentiments came together in the Recreation Before Responsibility Ripstop Vest. This vest combines Primaloft One insulation with a DWR treated down proof shell made off the electrical grid by Amish crafts people in Iowa on sewing machines that use… Full review

Finisterre Men's Bise

rated 5 of 5 stars I have the Mark IV version. Subtle improvements include ripstop fabric this year (you can't tell unless you look closely), an inside pocket, and funky contrast lining colours. Shame to see a YKK zip instead of Riri, but you can't have everything! I probably wear this the most out of all their insulation pieces, which I seem to have acquired. Full review

Klymit Kinetic Khameleon Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars Erik Fisher here, US Downhill Ski team. I’ve had my Khameleon for a while now. This vest is a revolution in the industry. Klymit’s Khameleon is without a doubt the warmest thing I have ever warn (even at 80mph). It is also the lightest form of warmth as well. It is so cool to be able to pump up the vest with the Argon and feel the warmth kick in. If you are ever outside skiing, hiking, climbing or just like to be warm you need this vest! Highly recommend it. [Editor's note, Klymit is one of… Full review

Patagonia Men's Micro Puff Vest

rated 4 of 5 stars This is a great vest. It was really cheap at the Patagonia outlet here in Reno, and I wanted a down vest but I couldn't pass up the deal on this vest. I use it as a pillow when I climb in my bag and it works great. It folds into itself and zips closed. It compresses to about 2"-3" thick by 6" long by 4" tall. I like vests over jackets personally because they keep my core warm which is all I really ever need (in good weather) and that way I am a lot less encumbered by bulky sleeves. The vest is really… Full review
