Lawson Equipment Titanium Tent Stake

rated 5 of 5 stars Strong and light best describe my favorite tarp stakes. As a hammock guy knowing the tarp is secure is a great feeling. And with these titanium sheppard hooks with most Southeast soils these stakes will hold your tarp tight. These babies are tuff too, not one has been bent even with stepping on them to drive them home. Weighing in at a whopping 6.25 grams or .22 oz. each I can carry six of these and barely break an oz., and at 6.25 inches they aren't taking up noticeable space in your pack. And… Full review

MSR Carbon Core Stake Kit

rated 2 of 5 stars Too fragile. I used these stakes twice before one of them broke. Surprisingly it didn't break while driving it into the ground. I had difficulty removing the stakes from the ground, and one of them broke as I wiggled it side-to-side attempting to loosen it. The end of the stake is still in the ground in the Sierra Nevada. MSR Groundhog Tent Stake

rated 4.5 of 5 stars These stakes do a nice job staying secure in the ground due to the design. They are also very light and easy to remove with the attached loop of cord. They are much better than the factory stakes that come with most tents. Do yourself and your tent a favor and purchase the MSR Groundhog Tent Stakes. These stakes are very easy to secure in the ground due to the design. They seem to cling to the earth much better than your typical tent stake. The bright red color and reflective coating on the cable… Full review

MSR Mini Groundhog Stake

rated 4.5 of 5 stars For their smaller size (6”), these stakes are deceptively strong and lightweight. While a dollar more expensive than other aluminum stakes, a few of these will go a long way holding down any tent, tarp, or even recreational equipment. I have encountered no problems in the slightly sandy/red clay/compact soil of central and western N.C. I originally didn’t have any thought to review these MSR Mini Groundhog stakes as they were part of a tent I purchased. The Hubba Hubba NX comes with a pack of… Full review

Toughstake Large Toughstake

rated 5 of 5 stars Toughstakes were designed for use in snow, sand, and other loose ground. They worked very well in my tests in snow. Anchoring a tent in an area of high winds is a problem encountered by most backpackers and virtually all high-altitude, winter, and polar expeditions. There are many solutions, some more satisfactory than others. I have not seen the Toughstakes in stores. But they can be ordered online from http://www.toughstake.com/ Background All tents should be anchored when pitched, perhaps “free-standing”… Full review

MSR Groundhog Tent Stake

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Small tent stakes best for lightweight backpacking. Powerful for such a small package, but sharpness of points and tips makes for challenging packing. We used these stakes for a 10-day backpacking trip. They were great because they were light, but they were sharp to a fault. The tips of the stakes ripped the tent bag, and eventually the sides of the stakes started to rip the bag too. They are also very sharp on the tip that extends out of the ground and I had a painful lesson when I stepped on one. Full review

DAC J-stake

rated 4 of 5 stars Just like you'd bend a SAM splint to make it stronger, DAC figured out that bending a stake in the middle makes it that much stronger. Hard (if not impossible) to bend, and easy to clean. Anytime I have a job that requires stakes, these are my number one choice and my standby. I use them exclusively with all my TNF tents. I even like these enough to have a spare set of ten around, just in case I need extra, or a friend does. If you've pitched, borrowed, or owned a tent from the North Face, you already… Full review

MSR Groundhog Tent Stake

rated 5 of 5 stars Lightweight, strong tent stake with good holding power. A tent stake is a low-key, basic item that just needs to work. These do.  A tent stake is a lowly item that just needs to address some very basic issues: Easy to drive into the ground; Stays put when in the ground; Easy to remove from the ground; Light and small enough to be carried; ...yet durable enough to do its job when replacements are not readily available. With such a basic list of requirements, you'd think that this would be an easy… Full review

MSR Groundhog Tent Stake

rated 5 of 5 stars Great tent stakes! These are my go-to tent stakes. Very solid aluminum. I have used these stakes for over 4 years now and have not bent one yet.  They are still straight and solid.  The tops of the stakes get banged up a bit from using rocks to slam them into the ground, but that is to be expected.   I highly recommend replacing the cheesy stakes that come with most tents with these ones.   Full review
