Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars

Summary

Nice shoe with a lot of "sole"

Pros

  • Waterproof
  • Solid construction
  • Good fit
  • Beefy outsoles

Cons

  • Outsoles maybe a tad to beefy

Picked these up in the black/red color with no real regrets. I have a moderately wide size 11 foot and these fit pretty well, though they run a little narrow and it took some breaking in to get 'em feeling just right — but no need to upsize for me.

They feature a thick, beefy outsole that promises to last a long time and have a seriously good tread pattern. They also offer really good support for both the bottoms of the feet and the sides, cradling the foot nicely without feeling too tight or uncomfortable.

They feature Teva's removable "Mush Infused" insert, which isn't very thick and feels a lot like most other inserts, so I don't find anything special or unique about it. The eVent waterproof lining has performed well and I haven't noticed any problems with the shoes not breathing sufficiently.

Overall these are a good shoe. They're suitable for outdoor pursuits, especially given the waterproofing, and will double as casual wear just fine, and they are comfortable and well-constructed.

I'm bumping them down one star because there's just something about them aesthetically that doesn't thrill me. The really thick outsoles are a plus, but they are so thick that the shoe ends up looking just a tad odd despite an otherwise attractive design.

Not a big deal and I would still recommend these as a quality outdoor shoe.
