Enough with the lift lines, frenzied rush off the tram, and tracked-out snow. When you're ready to leave the resort behind and head far into the backcountry, the Burton AK 31L Backpack has the features you need to survive and prosper. This splitboard-touring-specific pack was developed with the input of professional team riders Jeremy Jones and Jussi Oksanen in some of the harshest snowboard conditions in the world with one goal in mind--design the ultimate backcountry snowboard pack. Touring-specific features abound in this pack, including multiple snowboard carry options and several gear-specific pockets. For the uphill, the standard vertical snowboard carry is available, as well as a snowmobile-friendly horizontal carry position that eliminates interference between the snowboard and snowmobile seat as you are riding. A triple-strap compression system helps keep the pack from flopping around while carrying a snowboard in either position. The oversize main entry flap contains a fleece-lined goggle pocket, and the pack has a built-in hydration sleeve. On the downhill, a wet/dry front storage pocket isolates your wet climbing skins from the rest of your gear and drains excess water out the bottom of the pack. External pole storage keeps touring poles out of the way, and easy access shovel and probe pockets help save time in the event of an emergency. The cushy ergonomic shoulder straps and padded waist strap give this technical pack serious all day comfort, meaning you can seek your powder paradise in comfort and not feel like your back got beat up at the end of the day. - Backcountry.com
