Mountain Assault

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Sturdy, bulit like a tank, comfortable, supportive, little too heavy. I've tried other Danner boots and these are the most comfortable. I've tried Hiker 453 and Radical 452. They were nice, but their footbeds seemed just flat and therefore were not cushy enough for me. I am about 50 years old and I need some padding under my feet. Mountain Assaults use DHL 01 footbed which is anatomically shaped, and I can definitely feel the difference between these and some cheaper boots where no effort is made… Full review

Light II

rated 2 of 5 stars The exterior quality and construction is outstanding. However...the Gore-tex membrane inside the boot is sloppily fit and loose, causing it to bunch, which causes friction points, especially with the tight toe box. I found the boot to be well constructed, durable, good looking, and difficult to wear with anything thicker than a liner or thin dress sock. The reason? A confining toe box, combined with a loosely fit Gore-tex membrane/liner, would cause severe rubbing and hotspots on the tops of my… Full review

rated 2 of 5 stars Not what I expected. I normally buy the Radical but decided to cough up the big $$$ this time. Bad decision. I wore these boots for two weeks at work and my feet could not take it anymore. Had to switch to a new pair of Radicals. Much easier on my feet. I drive commercial garbage truck and push and pull containers every day so they got a workout. So did my feet. New callouses started on my left foot. They are a super cool looking, waterproof boot, but for the price I will be sticking with the Radical… Full review

Combat Hiker Gore-Tex

rated 5 of 5 stars All-American boot. At the time of purchase I was worried by the reviews stating that the Crater Rim/CH's were narrow, but still went with my normal 8.5R. I always wear a 8.5D in my Asics. I'm glad I went with the 8.5R because they fit perfectly and I don't consider my feet particularly narrow. My feet measure 3 and 1/2" at the widest and 10 and 1/4" lengthwise. Hope my measurements help because they would have helped me decide. The boots are a bit stiff, but any good boot is and I feel like they… Full review

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Best hiking boot ever. Bombproof, replaceable sole. DANNER! Danner boots are pretty rad. I have three pairs now, so I am a little biased. They are also right down the street from me in Portland, so repair is easy.  The fit is kinda weird at first. The leather is super tight, and almost painful, but I listened to the shoe salesman and just went with what I felt was too tight. There is a long break-in period. I could only walk to the store, about 3/4 of a mile round trip, and it felt like my shins… Full review
