Here's what other sites are saying:
From Altrec Outdoors:
"Originally designed for cycling, the Deuter Trans Alpine 25 backpack crosses over to other sports for excellent performance too. Its compact shape and sophisticated suspension system offers comfort and stability for trans mountain rides, attributes that scramblers, hikers, and skiers also appreciate. The suspension, known as the Deuter Airstripes system, begins with twin aluminum stays, moldable to match the unique back curvature of the wearer. Over the top of the stays, wide bilaminate foam stripes with an outward facing waffle iron texture and mesh covering provide pack to body contact. Between the two stripes a gap remains, forming a hot air chimney when the pack is placed against the back. Not only can hot air escape through the vents, but it can also escape to the periphery of the backpanel through the narrow channels in the waffle pattern. The Airstripes system allows for free air circulation to 80 of the wearer's back reducing perspiration and increasing comfort. The hipbelt includes breathable, wide mesh wings to wrap around the hips, maintaining a low profile while still supplying the necessary weight transfer and a secure fit. Furthermore, the Mesh Tex lined shoulder straps on the Deuter Trans Alpine 25 backpack further contribute to the secure fit and comfort. Their contoured shape, coupled with stabilizer straps for pulling the top portion of the load into the back put the finishing touch on a fantastic fit. Deuter packs an amazing number of features into the Trans Alpine 25 backpack. They have even gone so far as to include a raincover for those days when wet weather won't stop you. On the front of the backpack, in between the multiple zip access pockets, a helmet holder serves as a handy attachment point. The scalloped shape of the holder also allows for quick storage of items in various shapes and sizes. The Deuter Trans Alpine 25 backpack is also hydration system compatible, offers a removable sit pad, and two exterior mesh pockets that are ideal for stowing items within easy reach."
From REI:
"This pack is full featured to comfortably carry your gear and keep you hydrated on longer tours. Ventilating Airstripes back creates a chimney effect, channeling air up and over your back to keep you cool. Airstripes system is designed so that only 5% of its surface area comes in contact with the wearer's back. Padded shoulders straps and mesh stabilizing wings on the hipbelt helps support the load comfortably. Features a separate generous main compartment, interior security pocket, compression straps, helmet holder and side mesh pockets. A separate bottom compartment has a continuous zipper and a removable compartment separator to organize gear. Built-in rain cover protects your pack in inclement weather. Closeout."
