Here's what other sites are saying:

The best solid gate biner in the world? Probably. We have manufactured this series of biners from a new alloy which when combined with our I-beam hot-forging technology gives even greater strength - the Shadow features a massive 10kn gate open strength. The Shadow also incorporates a new keylock nose to avoid the biner snagging on the bolts, tape or the rope. This is particulally useful when stripping steep routes or when the biner is used for racking gear. Ergonomically this biner just feels right and clipping is really easy. The gate incorporates is heavily curved so that the rope falls into the biner with the minimum of fuss, whilst the inside of the biner has a really deep basket so that the rope is guided towards the spine for added safety. The Shadow is completely anodised to help combat corrosion and prolong life in hot, damp or salty enviroments. The Shadow is the new benchmark for performance and safety.

- Ramsey Outdoor

When you're pumped on a running belay, the last thing you need is your biner to unclip under pressure, so the DMM Shadow Secure was created to give you one-handed, semi-locking functionality. Semi-lock the gate with the small switch in the nose - just for a little extra security during situations that do not require a full, locking carabiner.
