Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 5 of 5 stars If you like lots of flavor this is your meal! My favorite trail meal! Spicy and flavorful, this beats most of my local restaurants. The instructions are dead on with timing and water required, add time for cold weather. The broccoli holds its texture better than you think and the coconut milk is an amazing detail. Try this, I think you will love it! Full review

Mountain House Scrambled Eggs with Bacon

rated 1 of 5 stars Walk, no, run away from these! Do not buy these, do not try these, they are nasty. The only "camping meal" worse then this is the dreaded MRE Veggie omelet. These taste like shame and regret, which happens to share flavors with cardboard and packing peanuts. My favorite brands in order are Good To-Go, Pack It Gourmet, Mountain House, Outdoor Herbivore, Hawk VittleS, Backpacker's Pantry, AlpineAire, MRE. These do not stand up to MH's typical quality. What's weird is that the Breakfast Skillet is… Full review

Clif Whey Protein Bar

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A tasty protein snack, without a lot of sugar. I always love a good protein snack after a workout, whether a bike ride, gym run, or hike. Unfortunately, many yummy protein products are loaded with sugar, oftentimes more sugar than I would like. Clif's new Whey Protein Bar solves that problem. With a mere 5 grams of sugar, this bar gives you a decent post-exercise protein fix, without loading you up with sugar. The protein is supplied by whey, but also from Pea Protein and Brown Rice Protein. The… Full review

Valley Food Storage White Bean and Lime Chili

rated 5 of 5 stars Great tasting and flavorful meal for camping trips. It's different from others that I've tried and it had real flavors and nothing artificial. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to add something new and fun to their backpacking meals. I had a friend give me a bag of Valley Food Storage meals to try. It was White Bean and Lime Chili. When I opened the “White Bean and Lime Chili,” I could smell the ingredients. It cooked up easy enough on a backpacking stove. It just took some time… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 3.5 of 5 stars One of my new favorite backpacking meals. This was my first GTG dehydrated meal and I really enjoyed it. I tried it on a car camping trip after a day of day hiking in the Blue Ridge Mtns. Yes, you need to bring the water to a boil and yes you need to allow the full 20 minutes. But the wait was worth it. One of the best dehydrated meals I've had after hiking.   Really appreciate all the healthy ingredients and that it is not chock full of unfamiliar chemical terms. I did not find the carmelized… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 5 of 5 stars The best dehydrated meal I've tasted. Real ingredients and restaurant-quality taste make this a 5-star product. On a dayhike that included a significant morning climb, my wife and I knew we’d be hungry by mid-day so we packed this meal and a small stove and hit the trail. When the trail finally flattened out and we got around to making lunch, we were blown away by the delicious taste, especially compared to other freeze-dried and dehydrated meals we’ve had in the past. Our only regret was having… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 3 of 5 stars All natural ingredients, high protein, and high fiber ensure this meal will leave you full and satisfied on the trail. Unfortunately, mediocre re-hydration and an off flavor kept me from enjoying this meal as much as I had hoped. After trying Good To-Go's Thai Curry, I was anxiously anticipating trying this meal in the middle of a three-day, two-night outing in Shawnee National Forest.  As I mentioned in the Thai Curry review, I love the fact that the ingredients are all-natural, real food! There… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 5 of 5 stars A dehydrated pouch meal providing restaurant quality flavor? Yeah. Good To-Go Thai Curry really is that good. Believe the hype. GTG really does excel. So yes, I'll admit that almost any food tastes better on the trail (With the possible exception of Libby Beef Crumbles!), but I was not expecting Good To-Go's Thai Curry to be this fantastic. Had I not been eating out of a pouch while squatting over a camp stove, I would have believed this had come from a restaurant.  The first thing I liked about… Full review

Backpacker's Pantry Chicken Piccata with Tagliatelle Pasta

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Backpacker's Pantry Chicken Picatta with Tagliatelle Pasta is a very filling, bold-flavored high-protein lemon chicken dish with noodles, capers, and parmesan cheese. Backpacker's Pantry added several tasty new meals to their lineup this year and I was able to test three of them. The others that I tested were the Nicoise Salad with Salmon and Chana Masala. Of the three, I liked the Chana Masala the best, but all three are good and worth a try if you like these types of food. Nutrition   Ingredients: … Full review
