Libby's Seasoned Beef Crumbles

rated 5 of 5 stars I liked this very much, bought all Dollar store had. Makes good tacos, and just right size for one person. Bring back to stores; can't find any. Tastes good, easy, yes, yes, yes, yes, all. Great, put more in stores. Full review

Skout Natural Foods Raw Pumpkin Seeds - Jalapeno Salsa

rated 5 of 5 stars Amazing raw pumpkin seed snack! There isn't all that much to say about these — they're delicious! I received a bag of these a few weeks ago in a care package from my brother. The jalapeno salsa is by far the best pumpkin seed flavor I have ever tried. I really need to learn how to make these at home. And until I get that spice mix exactly right, I'm going to be making someone over at Skout very happy. TASTE: These weren't nearly as spicy as I imagined from the name (in fact, not at all!). They… Full review

Skratch Labs Exercise Hydration Mix

rated 5 of 5 stars An excellent hydration mix that tastes great, supplies balanced electrolytes, and won't slow you down. Skratch Labs hydration mix started life in the professional cycling peloton. Alan Lim was the nutritionist for several pro cycling teams including BMC, Garmin, and Radio Shack, and had received many complaints about the electrolyte drinks that riders had to use. They complained about rotten taste, too much sugar, and the tendency for it to sit in the "bottom of your gut." So he developed this drink… Full review

Good To-Go Classic Marinara with Penne

rated 3 of 5 stars Pretty good flavor, but pasta doesn't rehydrate well. I had been looking forward to trying this out on my recent Rainier trip.  Prep is easy... just put boiling water in, stir, and wait twenty minutes. After twenty minutes, I gave it a try. Some of the pasta was still a bit crunchy, so I stirred some more and let it sit another ten minutes. Some of the pasta was STILL a little crunchy. So I stirred some more and waited another ten minutes. By this point, the pasta was mostly "al dente," and I was… Full review

UnTapped Maple Packets

rated 4 of 5 stars Untapped All Natural Athletic Fuel (which I will call "UnTapped" for the remainder of this review) might be one of the simplest energy supplements out there. It is a small foil pouch of pure maple syrup. That means 26 grams of carbs in one small, easy-to-consume shot. If you like the taste of maple syrup and can handle the super-sweet taste, they are a worthy addition to your arsenal. INTRODUCTION UnTapped is an elegantly simple energy supplement  — it is a one-ounce foil packet of pure, organic,… Full review

Clif Shot Bloks

rated 4 of 5 stars A fruit-flavored organic energy chew with great flavor and no filling feeling. However, I found I need to consume a whole pack (six chews) in order to feel any energy increases. Taste:There are some creature comforts that we deprive ourselves of while out on the trail. Because of my sweet tooth, I always crave sweet treats while on the trail, but some of my favorites—cookies, candies, and baked goods—don’t lend themselves well to being stuffed in a pack. When I set out to find a snack that… Full review

Mountain House Chicken Stew

rated 3.5 of 5 stars This tastes very good. It's very convenient when out camping when you don't want to be weighed down by a ton of groceries. Very easy and quick to prepare. I like to pack Mountain House for camping/hiking. It's lightweight, quick/easy to prepare, and you don't have a ton of garbage to pack out with you when headed back to civilization. The chicken stew tastes good and is so easy to prepare. It is very filling and 1 pouch could easily feed two people. I would recommend this product to campers/hikers,… Full review

Hi Mountain Hot Caramel Apple Crunch

rated 3.5 of 5 stars We have not reviewed camping meals before. We kinda buy them to have as an easy take along for canoe camping, and we usually use brands that are common and well-known. Recently, I used this item as an 'add-on" to a Sierra Trading Post order. I had never heard of this company, since they specialize in jerky and meats, which we do not eat. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this apple dessert (or breakfast). When canoe camping, we often use freeze-dried entrees, since we often… Full review

Oberta Bacon Jerky

rated 4 of 5 stars Taste great and has the texture of regular bacon. Usually I am not a big fan of jerky as I find most of it too sweet for my liking. Oberta Bacon Jerky is a refreshingly different product. Oberta Bacon Jerky tastes great and has good texture just like home cooked bacon. The jerky is not tough or too crunchy. This jerky is also great for snacking anytime you need a quick protein boost. I like bacon when backpacking, especially for breakfast. The cost for this jerky is very close to the precooked bacon… Full review
