Columbia Trail Summit Running Glove

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great running gloves. Or really good liner gloves, your call. Caveat: I am a member of the Columbia Sportswear Testing Program, however I have yet to test anything for them and I bought these long before I had this affiliation.  This is one of those odd situations where a niche product is exactly what I was looking for. Last spring I started running outside again and needed some super light, breathable gloves to wear as I run because my body heats up everywhere when I run except my hands. Weird… Full review

Oakley Factory Winter Glove

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Warmer than I expected, tough and waterproof. I'm not in the habit of ordering things like boots or gloves online, but I already own another pair of Oakley gloves, which I like, so I decided to go ahead and try these.  The price was also right since I ordered these in August, a long way from the winter they were designed for.  The online reviews said to order a size larger. They were right. I sometimes wear a size medium and the large ones fit me perfectly.  I wanted a leather snow glove for… Full review

Firm Grip General Purpose Gloves

rated 4 of 5 stars Whether you like to wear gloves just for scrambling or as full time hiking pole protection, these economical generic work gloves can come in really "handy" out on trail. With touchscreen compatible pads on the first two fingers and thumb they'll let you access smartphones, GPS or other touchscreen devices. Being relatively cheap they don't have to last forever for you to get your money's worth and are easily replaced for a few dollars when needed. These simple work gloves are made for general use,… Full review

Hestra Men's Heli 3-Finger Glove

rated 5 of 5 stars My favourite gloves for a variety of activities. I've had these gloves for a year and they are the best.  I should point out that I am a guy who runs either very hot when I'm moving, then I cool down quickly. I get sweaty hands, and generally unless I am moving lot's they are cold. I can't wear gloves that are waterproof as they tend to get sweaty then cold. I've used these resort skiing, backcountry skiing, ski mountaineering, ice climbing as belay mitts, and mountaineering.  The Heli 3-Finger… Full review

Salomon Cruise Gloves

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Basic winter gloves that do the job at a good price. I'm more on the hot and sweaty side, because I get warm very easily, so as long as the clothes I'm wearing have good breathability and are durable for the mountaineering hardship I'm good to go. I wore these gloves 3 maybe 4 times in my hiking trips and in temperatures ranging from 7 to 2 Celsius. My hands got sweaty I take it that their insulation is pretty good. In one trip I encountered some very light rain showers but nothing got… Full review

The North Face Women's Denali Thermal Mitt

rated 4 of 5 stars These mitts make a nice liner to a waterproof shell. They're also quick, and easy for an all-purpose "on the go" hand cover. I've used the North Face Denali gloves as liners for a few years inside of a Gore-tex shell. They've always performed fairly well. For the price point they are good. I thought I'd try using the mitt instead of the glove to see if it increased warmth. It does.  Fit and comfort: These mitts are a very comfortable faux type fur fleece. It's very comfortable. It tends to mat… Full review

Marmot Precip Shell Mitt

rated 1.5 of 5 stars These thin, lightweight, waterproof mitts seem like a good catch, but the flaws get the better of them. I had an old pair of Marmot gloves that had a manufacturing malfunction so I sent them in. Instead of fixing them, they gave me $50 credit toward gear so I picked these up thinking, they'd be comparable. I was wrong. Fit and Comfort: Waterproof shells are usually designed with no insulation so they are intended to be a cover for lighter gloves. I bought the XL mitts and I can barely squeeze a… Full review

SealSkinz Sea Leopard Glove

rated 1 of 5 stars Good glove for running, dog walking or cycle commuting in light drizzle? Not really sure what the intended use for these is... One of my particular issues with rain is that, given I now hike with trekking poles, my hands get wet and quite cold often out away from my body holding on to the ends of the sticks. I purchased these gloves for a series of outdoor activities in Iceland this past summer, knowing that I was likely to encounter colder, wet conditions while backpacking and hiking. On our first… Full review

Black Diamond Guide Finger Glove

rated 5 of 5 stars Warm, durable, useful, washable. Heck, what more do you want. I won't write a review unless I have had a product for a least a year. After four years of these being my primary digit protection for guiding, skiing, snowshoeing they're still going strong. You will need to waterproof these yearly. Also wash the liners regularly because your hands will sweat. I find these much warmer that the Guide Glove that I bought for my son. They are not as bulky as they look. If you buy them large you can fit… Full review
