Platypus Bite Valve Cover

rated 5 of 5 stars Keeps your bite valve clean and sanitary. Potentially prevents you from getting sick on the trail (as I did) when you're far from the trailhead. I was hiking the Northern Traverse in Glacier in September. On the fourth night, at Stoney Indian Lake, I became really sick with a bad case of gastroenteritis. When we arrived at camp, it started to get windy, cold, and wet. I and my two hiking partners set up camp, then walked over to the cooking area for dinner. Curiously, I had no appetite and had to… Full review

Geigerrig Nano Drink Tube

rated 4 of 5 stars The Geigerrig Nano Drink Tube is a tiny, 4mm sized hydration tube that provides a user effortless drinking or water extraction when paired with Geigerrig's pressurized hydration reservoir. Gone are the days of exerting and wasting breath drawing water from a bladder. These two systems work best together when backpacking, day hiking, trail running, and biking. Both the bladder and tube system should fit any pack equipped with a hydration sleeve. Since the Nano Drink Tube works best with Geigerrig's Hydration… Full review

Platypus Bite Valve Cover

rated 3 of 5 stars I am always having to keep pressing it to keep it shut. I was really excited to hear there was a valve cover because mine would always get sand and dirt on it. But I found that the cap does not really stay on and I am always having to keep pressing it to keep it shut. However, it's better than nothing. Full review

Nalgene Insulated Water Bottle Sleeve

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Does the job! Kept my Nalgene from freezing for about 10 hours in around -10 degrees F. Takes a little more space, but worth the space if your water doesn't freeze. Works well. Full review

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The AquaClip is a clever gadget that I recommend for those using Platypus-style water bottles. While the Ultralightest may cringe at the added 11 grams, this hiker is please to have my water bottle accessible, without having to contort myself to reach the water bottle in my pack’s side pockets. Preface: Five months ago, Brentbrook posted his review on the Aquaclip. That review focused on use with a disposable water bottle. I am not a fan of disposable bottles. So I asked in the comments section… Full review

Guyot Designs SplashGuard

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent design and material allows this splash guard to fit a wide variety of wide mouth bottle sizes and brands. I have used a 32oz. widemouth Nalgene bottle for several years with a Nalgene brand splash guard in its top. I recently bought a 48oz. wide mouth Nalgene and discovered that my splash guard did not fit the 48oz. so I went on the hunt for a splash guard that would fit.  When I came across the splash guard by Guyot Designs, I was very happy. This Splash Guard not only fits the 48oz. Full review

rated 4 of 5 stars The Aquaclip is a lightweight, flexible add-on to standard bottles that—when snapped into place—provides a way to hang the bottle to something else. Great for anyone who has been frustrated by the need to hand carry a bottle. The Aquaclip is a simple device made of recyclable plastic (polycarbonate) that simply snaps onto the neck of a water bottle to provide the bottle with a means of attachment to other things. A slight twist while the Aquaclip is pressed against the neck of a bottle secures… Full review

CamelBak Fresh Reservoir Filter

rated 4 of 5 stars Very simple, very light item, however very fragile! Handle with care. After upgrading my CamelBak with the CamelBak Fresh Reservoir Replacement Filter I found it great to use on the trail. I was able to fill my bladder from almost any watering hole and the filter did a great job at removing dirt and odour, so I'd recommend it for that. Only gripe I'd say is that it can be very fragile. Now this was after use, so maybe the water makes it fragile, I'm not sure, but I'd suggest whenever you handle… Full review

humangear capCAP

rated 5 of 5 stars A nice replacement top for large mouth bottles. Provides a smaller drinking area which helps keep the fluid off your body when the ice shifts or you turn up the bottle too fast. I've used Nalgene bottles for close to 20 years and periodically have to replace the tops due to dishwasher heater element mishaps or because the strap eventually wears out. I needed to replace a top recently and I saw this humangear top at one of our Army/Navy Surplus stores and decided to try it. I have been really pleased… Full review
