Rating: rated 2.5 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new

Summary

If you have a wider foot AND ankle AND don't sweat, this is for you.

Pros

  • Well made

Cons

  • No ankle adjustment
  • smelly footbed

If you have narrow ankles, you probably will not like this shoe as your feet will slide around and give you blister. I have worn with socks and that looks dorky, but is very comfortable.

I wish someone would make a sandal like the Teva Psyclone for kids only with adult support and durability.

Here's what other sites are saying:

Mixing normal sandals and boats tends to result in broken, bleeding toes and furious boat owners. Keen developed the Newport Sandals in the sailing Mecca that is Rhode Island to solve these problems while retaining the comfort of sandals. A patent-pending toe guard protects your toes from deck rigging or rocks on shore. The Newport's soles are made from a grippy, non-marking rubber that prevents you from slipping and falling overboard or from being thrown overboard by black-mark-addled boat owners. The Newport's waterproof leather upper and anatomical last make it comfortable enough for extended wear on long bluewater voyages or just walking around town.

If you boat or sail throughout the summer, you'll appreciate the vented comfort and superb traction from this Keen Newport Sandal for women. The leather straps on the upper are backed with fast-drying hydrophobic mesh for enhanced comfort in wet and dry conditions. Like their boat shoe counterparts, the Keen Women's Newport Sandal has a non-marking rubber outsole that grips boat decks and slick dock surfaces, but this sandal also features Keen's patented toe, so you enjoy better forefoot protection than most conventional boat shoes and sandals. That's important for day sailors and amphibious boating enthusiasts who want to add a little beachcombing to their water outings. Keen notes that their Women's Newport Sandals tend to run about a 1/2-size small, so keep this in mind when placing your order.
