From Moosejaw:
"Free Shipping. Metolius Personal Anchor System - P.A.S. (Spring 2008) The Personal Anchor System - P.A.S. by Metolius is yet another example of Metolius commitment to products that are safer by design. It is designed to give the climber a high-strength anchor connection while threading for the lower, setting up a rappel or belaying. The PAS should replace the daisy chain that many climbers wear affixed to their harnesses for belay change-overs. Daisy chains should NOT be used because they are full-strength only when loaded in the end loops (intermediate pockets are only 300 lbf/1.3 kN). The PAS is super convenient and easily adjustable--just clip the loop which puts you at the correct height and . . . voila! When not in use, just leave it girth-hitched to your tie-in points, gather the extra loops and clip to the side for compact storage. The PAS is constructed from our super-strong, proprietary Power WebbingFeatures: Stronger and SAFER than daisy chains--individual loops are full-strength (Daisy chains are only strong end-to-end. The individual pockets on a daisy chain are for bodyweight only) More convenient and adjustable than using slings or quickdraws at the anchor Stows compactly Constructed from our super-strong, proprietary Power Webbing Includes Matrix Locking Carabiner Weight: 2.9 oz. (82 g) Length: 42in. (107cm) Strength: 4050 lbf (18 kN)"
From Backcountry.com:
"The Metolius PAS (Personal Anchor System) gives climbers a strong anchor connection that replaces the daisy chain hanging off most harnesses. Daisy chains are only full-strength when loaded end to end, making them a dangerous choice for anchor connection. Every loop of the Metolius PAS holds is full strength. Additionally, the PAS doubles as a handy anchor equalizer or runner when removed from your harness. The PAS is more convenient and adjustable than using slings or quickdraws at the anchor."
From RockCreek:
"The Metolius Personal Anchor System (PAS), is a must have for anyone who climbs multi-pitch routes, big walls, or guides for a living. The PAS is constructed with a super strong, proprietary Power Webbing that attaches to your harness and when you get to your belay station or anchor, you use it to clip in and secure yourself. Daisy chains should NOT be used because they are full-strength only when loaded in the end loops (intermediate pockets are only 300 lbf/1.3 kN). With the PAS, you can clip into any part of the system and you will get full back up as each loop has 100% strength to any sort of pull, fall or tension. The PAS is more convenient and adjustable than using slings, or quickdraws at the anchor when rapelling, or belaying."
From REI:
"Forget about fumbling with slings, daisy chains and quickdraws. This personal anchor system connects you to the anchors safely and efficiently. Connect the system to your harness, then simply clip into an anchor at any of the sewn loops for a secure anchor that holds you at the correct height. Strong 16mm Dyneema /nylon blend webbing reduces weight and bulk."
