- Mountain Gear

Mountain Hardwear's Splitter Backpack is a panel-loading crag pack you can drop in the dirt and whip open for easy access to your climbing gear. A pull-out tarp lets you sort your hardware without getting it dirty, and internal racking loops let you organize your cams, nuts, and biners to your heart's content. Inside the Splitter Pack, you'll find pockets for you climbing shoes, chalk bag, and clothes, as well as a hanging hydration pocket that's accessible from the pack's exterior. For comfortable carrying, Mountain Hardwear gave this daypack a compression panel that holds a heavy rope securely against the molded back panel.

Developed with direct input from their athlete team, the Mountain Hardwear Splitter pack boasts a spot-on feature set and versatility for rock climbing, day hiking and everything in between. Distinctive panel-loading design allows you to split the pack wide open and lay it flat for supremely easy access. Internal compression panel, pouches and gear loops make it a breeze to organize your rope, rack, shoes, chalk and other gear. Mountain Hardwear Splitter pack's framesheet, hipbelt and top lid are easily removable to adapt the pack to your specific activity. High-density polyethylene framesheet features an alloy shaping rod for customizable load support. Shoulder straps are padded with dual-density foam to distribute the load evenly; single-density foam in the hipbelt helps provide maximum comfort. Constructed with a 630-denier nylon body and 1,260-denier Cordura(R) ballistic nylon bottom, the durable Mountain Hardwear Splitter pack laughs at abuse and abrasion. Body and bottom fabrics are coated with polyurethane for moisture resistance; bottom fabric features a Durable Water Repellent finish for added protection. Pack body can be flattened against your back for improved balance on trail runs or quick scrambles; compression straps tuck away for a clean profile. Integrated nylon tarp pulls out to protect your gear from dirt and moisture while sorting and repacking. Zippered hydration pouch is readily accessible from the top of the pack for refilling your reservoir (hydration reservoir sold separately). Large zipper pulls are easy to employ-even with tired, cramped hands or while wearing gloves. The Mountain Hardwear Splitter pack's exterior sports a zippered front pocket, stretchy mesh side pockets, gear loop and daisy chain for additional carrying capacity.
