Scarpa Phantom Guide

The Phantom Guide has been discontinued. It was replaced by the Scarpa Phantom Tech.

Scarpa says:

The Phantom series is among the lightest, most progressive, best-climbing alpine boots on the market to date.

Phantom series boots -- built for technical climbing in cold climates – were designed with the feedback and involvement of two SCARPA athletes in particular, climbers Ueli Steck and Simon Anthamatten. The two have been pushing the boundaries of alpine climbing in recent years, from the Himalayas to their home Alps.

The new SCARPA/Vibram TT sole is designed so it more effectively concentrates power over the big toe and edging platform for climbing either rock or on crampon points. The sole is also thinner in the forefoot for better climbing sensitivity.

New micro-porous polyurethane midsole inserts are 30 percent more shock absorbing than EVA used in other climbing boots on the market today. That means the Phantom yields substantial energy savings through decreased muscle fatigue when carrying a heavy pack and/or traveling in rough terrain.
