You're not sure whose idea it was for the three of y'all to go camping for a week last October, but the MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3-Person 3-Season Tent was there for you during a night that shall go down in history: 15-bean chili, moonshine, cigars, and a tent. This beautifully breezy portable palace offers ample room for you and your two averagely proportioned friends while leaving lots of spare room and weight so you can fill your pack with really important things, like those stinky stogies or flasks. The ripstop nylon bathtub floor rises up along the sides to save your sweet dreams from fat raindrops that splatter mud upon impact. A powerful weather-resistant combination of DWR and Durashield polyurethane stops rivulets of rain from streaming inside your tent. The body mixes mesh panels with lightweight nylon for cross-tent ventilation, and the robust nylon ripstop rainfly spares you a soggy fate when a midnight shower turns into an all-night steady rain. The Mutha Hubba NX takes an innovative approach to the rainfly-vestibule interaction. Instead of a center zip, you get into the vestibule (and tent) via a side zip on the fly. The zipper is tucked beneath a rain gutter so you can come and go as you please without exposing your tentmates to a deluge. Two doors and two vestibules mean only the monkey in the middle has to climb over anyone for an after-dark potty run. At both vestibules, roll up the edges of the fly, guy them out, and let an air-cleansing wind sneak inside. Vents at both ends of the tent, plus the side doors, mean you get air from every direction.
