Luke's Ultralite Accessory Pouch #2

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The first waist belt pocket I've found that I can easily access with my waist belt buckled. Roomy, virtually waterproof, and well-made. I have purchased many different backpack waist belt pockets in my quest for one that fit my needs and desires:  Zpacks, Gossamer Gear, Zimmerbuilt, EXIT, MLD, Elemental Horizons, and the pockets that are part of the HMG waist belt. My main frustration with all of them was that to keep them from sliding around it was usually necessary to anchor them near where the… Full review

Osprey DigiStow

rated 2 of 5 stars A decent case, but I won't be buying another. Cannot be opened/closed with one hand, inner pocket elastic has already stretched out. It took me losing a camera battery to write this review. This is the Osprey Digistow (M). I have been using it primarily for my compact camera, a Canon S120. Although a little large, this is no concern. The case itself is constructed well, however with a couple of fatal flaws. The wide-mouth design prevents one-hand opening/closing. This is a large drawback for me,… Full review

Outdoor Research Backcountry Organizers

rated 5 of 5 stars A great lightweight, well though out organizer for hiking, backpacking, or general travel needs. Features loads of internal compartments, waterproof zippers, and quality construction from thin but durable nylon. This review is of the medium sized option, or #2. From the manufacturer: The Backcountry Organizers have a multitude of pockets and compartments designed to hold small items. They're the perfect place to start if you're building a DIY dopp kit or first aid kit. Fabric 100% nylon,70D with… Full review

Outdoor Research Water Bottle Tote

rated 5 of 5 stars The convenience of it makes for easy hydration when on the trail. It holds a one liter water bottle or an ordinary water bottle. The Outdoor Research Water Bottle Tote is a great piece of gear. It holds a one liter water bottle or an ordinary water bottle. The large velcro strap lets you hook it to your pack waist belt. Which is the main reason I purchased it. When solo hiking it's near impossible to get a water bottle out of your pack without having to take it off. Since most of my hikes are solo,… Full review

Equinox Marsupial Ultralite Pouch

rated 5 of 5 stars Great for organizing. I have a few sets of these and they are great for organizing small items that might get lost in a pack or luggage otherwise. The small items can also then be moved easily from a small pack to a daypack, etc. The set has 3 sizes.  Some are all silnylon, while others have a mesh window — I think the mesh is a newer style, but I may have that backwards.  I wouldn't clip it to the outside of a pack if I wanted to keep it, though.  I use the clip to clip it inside luggage or… Full review

Deuter External Pockets

rated 5 of 5 stars Great, Great, Great Value!   I bought these when one of the recommended retailers was having a free shipping weekend during Labor Day weekend. I added these on the sides to my son's youth ALPS Mountaineering Internal frame and my older (but goody) Gregory Cassin Expedition pack.  In one pocket alone I was able to stuff an adult XL raingear suit and my XL Gregory pack raincover.  These also will enhance the look of any internal frame pack.  The only two things to keep in mind is not to overload… Full review

Lowe Alpine Universal Side Pocket

rated 4 of 5 stars I bought these to add space to my Golite Pursuit pack for longer excursions. Each pocket (sold in pairs) comes with "universal" 1" and 1 1/2" mounting straps on both the upper and lower sections of the back panel to allow secure attachment to side compression straps. The material is durable and has lasted well after a year of heavy use, sometimes through scrub brush and bushhwacking. It is only a moderately water-resistent material, so be advised if the weather turns ugly and you have sensitive… Full review

Osprey MapWrap

I received this for my birthday back in July and didn't have a chance to take it out on the trail until September. Of course my trip involved two days of rain, but I was confident that my WATERPROOF Osprey map wrap would protect my topos that I had printed out on regular 8x10 computer paper to save money from buying waterproof maps. Saying I was wrong is an understatement. Pros: Organizes maps into one location Looks nice Protects maps from dirt and keeps them generally clean and protected Cons:… Full review

Granite Gear Belt Pocket

rated 4 of 5 stars I purchased two Granite Gear belt pockets to use with my Vapor Day pack. The instructions for attaching the pockets were very good and it was not hard to get them installed. Over all the pockets are very convenient and easily accessed. I have used them many times since purchasing them over a year ago. The one thing I have noticed each time I am out hiking and really my only complaint, is that unless I am using trekking poles (which keep my arms out away from my body), my arms seem to constantly… Full review
