HammockGear Phoenix 20

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A very lightweight under quilt. Temperature rating is accurate, and fits gathered end hammocks very well. This under quilt is perfect for gathered end hammocks. The temperature rating seems spot on, as long as you use an appropriate top quilt. The phoenix fits gathered end hammocks very well. It can even be used on a bridge style hammock with minimal cold spots. Hammock gear uses very high quality 850fp goose down that allows a very small pack size (see video) I've used this quilt for 2 years and… Full review

Little Shop of Hammocks Toaster Down Under Quilt

rated 5 of 5 stars A full length 800 FP HyperDri goose down hammock under quilt rated for 0 F. Available in a large variety of colour combinations and fabric types, I choose the A90 (.9 oz/sq yrd.) olive outside with the same A90 fabric in black on the inside. After testing it out a few nights this winter it is more than capable of taking you down to the 0 degree point. I remained toasty and warm well past freezing on a couple nights. Over stuff of the down is available for those venturing out in sub 0 temps. Very… Full review

Therm-a-Rest Slacker Super Snuggler

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Slacker Super Snuggler is an inexpensive, easy to use, robust, lightweight hammock underquilt that works well in above freezing temperatures. This hammock would be an excellent choice for new hangers due to its ease of use or for folks that are looking for a down alternative with similar performance. It doesn’t offer as much coverage as a full size, rectangular cut underquilt and offers a different style of coverage than a traditional three-quarter quilt. Overall I would recommend this quilt… Full review

Kifaru Doobie

rated 5 of 5 stars I use this as a force multiplier for whatever insulation I'm using. Whether it's sleeping on the ground, in a hammock, or still hunting after a hike. It always fits in a pack, and is easy to use. I've used it in a hammock, in a tree stand, sitting to glass while hunting, winter camping to extend my time outside at night in front of the fire. It takes the place of an extra jacket, and extra sleeping bag.  The synthetic insulation actually dries me out while I sleep.  https://store.kifaru.net/woobie-p72.aspx… Full review

enLIGHTened Equipment Revelation

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Cold! Regret buying two of these. Not at all what is advertised temp-wise. I am a female backpacker and am super disappointed with my EE quilts and wish I'd never bought them. Mine is supposedly rate to 10 degrees but I freeze in it below 45°. I've tried every way of strapping it and the only thing that sorta works is buttoning it up like a sleeping bag and trying to sleep with the openings toward my XTherm pad. I bought one for my son and it's supposed to be a 30° but he can't bear it even on… Full review

HammockGear Burrow 0

rated 5 of 5 stars The Burrow 0° F top quilt works for hammock and ground dwellers, with snaps at the foot box it can easily become a blanket. The Burrow comes in a variety of ratings from 0 F to 50 F with over stuff available depending on your needs and the season. All of Hammock Gear quilts are custom made, if you have any questions they are quick to respond. They offer a wide variety of colors and fabrics to choose from as well as two foot box options, sewn and snaps, with the snaps it easily coverts the quilt… Full review

enLIGHTened Equipment Enigma

rated 2 of 5 stars I really like the quilt concept and the shell and quality of construction are excellent. The down however smelled like a wet dog on delivery and the smell persisted for a week. I sent the item back, which they rebuilt/washed, however it still smelled just as strong. I am planning a long trip and can't see myself using this for an extended period of time due to the smell. enLIGHTened Equipment Enigma

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a high quality piece of backpacking gear. Enlightened Equipment makes very high quality backpacking quilts. However I'm not sure I'm totally sold on the vertical baffle design. It's been said, vertical baffles help with down shift inside the baffling. My experience with vertical baffles is that down shift happens, regardless of which way the baffles run. I also think having longer baffles gives the down more volume to migrate. The best way to keep down from migrating is to have small, well… Full review

Kammok Firebelly Trail Quilt

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Nothing like the quilts grandma used to put on her bed, the Firebelly uses modern materials and design to pack a lot of comfort into a light, small package. On the ground or in a hammock this quilt is great for those looking to reduce their three-season load in style. Low thirties and raining on a fall trip to N.H. Perfect weather for testing hydrophobic down. Kammok is an interesting company that seems to be balanced between being true gearheads and being more of what I’d call a lifestyle brand. Full review
