U.S. Military Poncho Liner Woobie

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a great multi-purpose camping/hiking resources. I have had mine nearly 30 years and still as good as when it was new only a little less stiff. I got mine early in my military career and when I retired it came with me.   It has been good for in cool evenings and summer camping.  Does not replace a sleeping bag in my opinion unless you are in warm climate.   If paired with a military poncho as designed, it does replace a sleeping bag in moderate climates.  I love this in a hammock during… Full review

Snugpak Insulated Jungle Travel Blanket

rated 5 of 5 stars I concur! Thanks for the comprehensive reviews... I bought this as a slightly warmer alternative to the standard military poncho liner "wooble" I usually carry for summer hikes. This is a little smaller, but is also about 8 ounces lighter than the poncho liner in a stuff sack. First test was on a cold, dreary night in my living room (smirk). I pulled the Snugpak out of its storage bag, unrolled it, and pulled it over me while watching TV. I immediately noticed it was warm—noticeably warmer than… Full review

U.S. Military Poncho Liner Woobie

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Get your woobie on. One of the top inventions by the U.S. Military, the poncho liner (aka woobie) is very lightweight and is nice on mild nights as a wrap or can up the warmth of sleeping bags on colder nights. I'm amazed that no one has ever reviewed probably one of the best ever sleeping and warming inventions. It's the military poncho liner, aka woobie (don't ask me where the name woobie came from—it goes back to time of invention).  I was in the Infantry for 10 years and came to love the… Full review

MAC-Gear 40 Degree Down Top Quilt

rated 4 of 5 stars The Mac Gear Top Quilt provides good fit and warmth. This quilt is handmade in Florida of good quality materials and workmanship. If you have a Warbonnet hammock, this under quilt will fit nicely under the shelf. I got tired of trying to deal with sleeping pads in my hammock because I never could get them to stay in place while I slept. When using a mummy bag in my hammock, I could never get comfortable zipping it up and the bottom insulation did no good anyway. I guess my decision was made one… Full review

Jacks 'R' Better Hudson River Quilt

rated 5 of 5 stars Quilts that don't let me buy new gear. Because they are light, and they are still in great shape. I've had two Hudson River quilts for what seems like forever. About a decade now, I think. I've used them on my bed, on cots in other people's houses, car camping, and backpacking. When I bought them, there were not many quilts on the market—that's changed over time, now there are many vendors and many options. I chose these particular quilts because they were versatile—each of them can be used… Full review

Belmont Blanket HellaGood Adventure Blanket

rated 5 of 5 stars Impressed with the size that this rolls up into a small packed size for a 6’ x 5’ all weather blanket. Similarly, this blanket is huge. The Adventure Blanket is really soft on the plush inside. Awesome leather accents. Probably one of the best features of this blanket is that it’s handmade in the USA!! As a member of another website, I sometimes get the opportunity to test out products in exchange for a review, and during a trip to the PNW I tested out the Belmont Blanket Adventure Blanket… Full review

Belmont Blanket HellaGood Adventure Blanket

rated 4 of 5 stars Soft on one side, waterproof on the other. Perfect for picnics, the beach, or anywhere you need to sit. I was given the opportunity to test out this blanket from Belmont in exchange for a review.  Before I took it camping, I hauled it with me on a trip to Paris, France. Even though the blanket weighs a bit more due to the waterproof material, I found it invaluable. Many places you go, you can grab some food and wine and set up a picnic. We sat along the Seine River and in front of the Eiffel Tower. Full review

Belmont Blanket HellaGood Adventure Blanket

rated 5 of 5 stars I was able to test the HellaGood adventure blanket by Belmont Blanket, handmade in Portland, Oregon, in exchange for a review. Packs small, but perfect for two adults. Throw this waterproof blanket in the car, sea kayak, tent, or use around the campfire on a chilly evening. I was able to test the HellaGood adventure blanket by Belmont Blanket, handmade in Portland, Oregon, in exchange for a review. What I like most about this blanket: Rolls up into a nice size that’s easy to throw in the car,… Full review
