Dagger Axis 12

rated 3.5 of 5 stars The Dagger Axis 12 is my first kayak. Not the first I've ever paddled, but the first I've ever owned. I've got more background with canoeing. Ease of Use  The Dagger Axis 12 is pretty easy to get right into and use. But the seat is highly customizable, so you might want to spend a little time on dry land getting that dialed in before you take it out on the water. Some adjustment on the water is possible, but not convenient. There are also adjustable foot pegs which I've found a little easier to… Full review

Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Ultralite

rated 3 of 5 stars Nice lightweight kayak. Roomy large cockpit. Defect in manufacturing, screws at handles cause cracking and eventual breakage of material. At first I loved this kayak, but after just a few uses, I noticed the handles starting to crack around the screw. This was under warranty, I've been waiting for over three months for a replacement with no delivery date yet to be seen. Now I have a hole in my kayak and can not use it. The material is very flimsy. If you fall out of the kayak and try to climb back… Full review

Wilderness Systems Pungo 140

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Love my Pungo 140. THIS awesome kayak should not be listed as a recreational kayak only. It's a cross-over. It's also a touring kayak. To me a touring kayak should be able to hold gear and track well while it carries that gear. Full review

Dagger Axis 10.5

rated 5 of 5 stars Perfect crossover kayak. Just what I was looking for! I kayak the waters of northern Arkansas and southern Missouri, so I wanted a kayak that would do well on lakes or on Class I to III rapids. I found just what I was looking for with this one! I also like to do nature photography, and the skeg makes a big difference in keeping me on track toward my subject. The seat is adjustable and very comfortable, even during a 10-hour float. I am a 57-year-old woman, and I wanted one light enough I could… Full review

Wilderness Systems Pamlico 100

rated 4 of 5 stars This is the ideal kayak for anyone who is just getting into kayaking, lives on a relatively calm lake, or enjoys going for a calm relaxed paddle. It has a good amount of storage, leg room, and is extremely stable. I purchased two of these kayaks almost five years ago, and they have been great to me. I live on a lake and take out one of the Pamlicos many times a week. They are a very stable kayak and I have never had any trouble with it tipping over. I love the storage behind the seat and found it… Full review

Pelican International Intrepid 100x

rated 4 of 5 stars Great beginners kayak. The twin arch multichine hull is very stable, you would have to try hard to tip it. After reading all the great reviews of the Trailblazer 100 at Dicks, I was sold on Pelican. I had to call Pelican customer service to find out what hull was on that boat. Almost every review talked about the stability. I confirmed with Pelican that is had the twin arch multichine hull. She told me the Liberty, Trailblazer, Intrepid, Shoal, and Bounty all have the same hull. After seeing the… Full review

Jackson Kayaks Mini Tripper

rated 4 of 5 stars This is an excellent little recreational kayak for kids, teens, and small women. It's good for flat water and for fishing. Light enough for small people to carry to the water, it's still well-made of tough plastic. This handy little recreational kayak was the prize I won at a paddle festival. What a pleasure the Mini-Tripper was to paddle! I used it for a year, and it's now owned by the teenage children of a friend. I was not the person it was designed for, yet it still worked fine for me. At… Full review

Perception Sound 10.5 Angler

rated 4 of 5 stars Very responsive, quick, stable, and a good workhorse for recreation, workouts, and fishing. In a 3.4-mile trek, average speed was 3.0 and a top speed of 8.5 during an anaerobic workout. Handles well in wind and waves. Good for large paddlers. The kayak's cockpit is roomy, even for a large person. A little more space than the Pungo 120 or 140. The seat and peddles need to be adjusted before you get in. I read reviews that complained about the 10.5 in wind and wave conditions. In 10-15 mph winds and… Full review

Old Town Trip 10 Deluxe Angler

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent low-cost recreational kayak. This kayak is really nice for flat water and slow moving rivers. My wife and I are are new to kayaking and these were our first purchases. So far we have taken ours out on 16 trips in the past two months ranging from 90 min to our longest trip of 8 hours on the water, 2 miles to 14.88 miles. We have paddled in no wind to as high as about 15mph. It tracks reasonable straight and maneuvers pretty well. We kayak on flat water and slow moving rivers. The kayak… Full review
