The renewable insulation is derived from bamboo that is burned at 1,500° Fahrenheit to create charcoal, which is then spun into a synthetic fiber. Bamboo has a fast growth rate, consumes high levels of carbon dioxide, and generates up to 35 percent more oxygen then an equivalent stand of trees.
