The hybrid Battle Mountain -15° sleeping bag uses 600 fill goose down on top and more eco-friendly bamboo charcoal synthetic insulation on the bottom. The renewable insulation is derived from bamboo that is burned at 1,500° Fahrenheit to create charcoal, which is then spun into a synthetic fiber. Bamboo has a fast growth rate, consumes high levels of carbon dioxide, and generates up to 35 percent more oxygen then an equivalent stand of trees.

The new Battle Mountain Sleeping Bag from Big Agnes features both 600-fill down and bamboo synthetic insulation to keep you toasty at base camp. You know about down, a lightweight insulation that keeps you warm by not allowing your body heat to escape. To make bamboo synthetic, an eco-friendly and renewable insulation, bamboo is burned at 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit to create a charcoal that is spun into a synthetic fiber. The result of combining these two insulation types in the Battle Mountain is a cold-weather sleeping bag with a rating of negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit. This sleeping bag also features Big Agnes' integrated pad sleeve slide your sleeping pad into the bag's bottom to provide ground insulation. Because it has its own compartment, your pad won't slide around, and you won't wake up lying next to it. Buy Big Agnes' 20-inch rectangular pad to go with your Battle Mountain.
