Trailhead 8 Family Dome
Well made, lots of space. Well made and holds my family of five and dog as well as my sister in-law and her three daughters. We have two queen size beds and three full size beds. Blocks wind well and keeps the heat inside on cool nights. Full review
Falcon Convertible Wall Gazebo
The quality of the shelter is excellent and it is easy to put up and take down. The tent is manufactured by North Pole and they must be contacted for parts. I've tried the 800 numbers on the instruction sheet and get a bunch of advertising offers. When I contacted Gander Mountain, they gave me a local number to call. It's not in service. I'm now trying an email contact. Anyway, I'm satisfied with the product, but frustrated with customer service. Gander Mountain lists the product for $229. So, it… Full review
Blazer Solo
This is an inexpensive tent, which is fairly lightweight for its price. The size is sufficient for as a single person tent and it has succeeded in keeping dry and comfortable so far. There is not much room for gear — you'll have to leave the panniers on the bike or the pack outside. While on a bicycle tour in the Upper Midwest, I found that my bivvy sack was too cramped and the heat and humidity were intolerable. I stopped into a Gander Mtn in Green Bay, WI, picked up this tent, and sent my bivvy… Full review
Trailhead 8 Family Dome
Not a tent that is easily set up by one to two persons. You need at least three people to set up easily. Living space is large. Poles are fiberglass and will eventually wear out. All in all a decent buy for what I paid. The footprint is a tad odd and staking should be done from the center first, then the ends stretched taught prior to raising. Rain fly should be about a foot longer to provide six inches more coverage on the ends. Good airflow through the tent and good floorspace throughout. The… Full review
Guide Series Thundercloud II Rain Jacket
For those who don't want to "shell" out $80 or $100 for a hard shell waterproof jacket, this'll be for you. While the sizing may be off, this is a solid waterproof jacket, consistent as well as compact. Not too many frills, but will keep you dry! A review for an early holiday gift that's received a lot of use in the past three weeks. I've been down to Charleston and back to Raleigh. No white Christmas, but plenty of rain! I am 5'9" and 150 lbs, athletic. My in-laws gave me a medium (typical for… Full review
