The versatile Air Tech Hammer ice axe from GrivelĀ® is a great complement to the Evolution axe, with a hammer tool for piece placement. Head is hot-forged from a single piece of nickel chromoly steel for maximum strength; classic positive angle shape provides lasting bite. Lightweight 7075 aluminum shaft offers easy heft and is very strong boasting a shaft resistance of 400kg. Shaft features a gentle curve just below the head, allowing greater clearance and making anchoring easier on any sort of terrain. Lower part of the shaft is straight, enabling easy penetration into snow; nickel chromoly spike plunges easily into hard-packed ice and snow. Full-length, adjustable leash and lower shaft-grips improve performance as an ice tool when the route turns steep. Leash has an attached rubber spike guard which controls the leash and protects your gear during transport.
