Best tasting gel that Gu offers. Not saying it is the best tasting gel, just it is their best tasting gel.
In my never ending quest for a food to eat while trail running I tried these. Unlike GU's regular gels theses are neither as sickeningly sweet nor as pasty thick, these are fine as far as gels go.
As far as the nutrition, I don't know if branch amino acids, vitamins and anti-oxidants help or are just marketing mumbo jumbo. These gels did not cause a sugar high/crash and they seemed to provide even energy for an hour or so.
These gels work as well as anything else on the market and their only drawback is that packet for packet these are twice as expensive as most other gels.

GU Chomps. It's the GU that you chew. While we got along fine before chewy energy supplements, we're glad that we now have a choice. Chomps are easy to store in your back pocket once opened. It's not necessary to eat them all at once. The old mantra "a little bit at a time over a long time" seems to be the method. In fact, GU recommends eating 4 every 45. That's four Chomps every 45 minutes. A serving is 90 calories. There are two servings per bag, so a bag of GU Chomps tucked into a jersey pocket should get you through a 35 mile ride assuming you weren't hungry when you started out. Chomps are the only energy chew that contains amino acids, which help you maintain focus and aid in recovery both during and after the workout. Like GU gel, Chomps incorporate both simple and complex carbs for instant and prolonged fuel delivery. That's the key to maintaining a steady blood glucose state and to avoid the dreaded bonk. You'll also get 100% of your daily needs of vitamins C & E, two antioxidants that help fight free radicals in order to keep your cells healthy when you put your body under the stress of high workloads. GU Chomps are formulated with 55mg of sodium and 40mg of potassium to maintain the water balance in your cells. One nice effect we've noticed with Chomps is that they are pretty chewy and force us to drink plenty of water to get them washed down quickly and get back on the hammer. The Strawberry and Cranberry Apple flavors each have 20mg of caffeine per serving to help give you a little late-race kick.GU Chomps are available in four flavors -- Blueberry Pomegranate, Cranberry Apple Cherry, Orange, Peach Tea, Strawberry, and Watermelon. Each 60 gram package contains two servings (eight pieces). Comes in a box of 16 packages.
