Scrambled Eggs with Bacon

rated 2 of 5 stars They're dried eggs! They serve the purpose of nutrition. Life can be iffy. These meals are the Iffy busters. I bought this single serving Mountain House Freeze Dried Scrambled Eggs with Bacon while browsing in my local Walmart, down the camping aisle. Since I was going to be taking a trip up to the mountains, I thought it would be nice to try. I'm not a big fan of powdered eggs and some freeze dried meals, this was my opportunity to sample the eggs with bacon. Not Bad. Great for camping or emergencies. Full review

Chicken Teriyaki with Rice

rated 3 of 5 stars This was not a very tasty entrée. I've had much better. I wouldn't recommend this product. The seasoning did not mix well. This resulted in clumps of seasoning and a very poor taste. I wouldn't have guessed it was 'teriyaki' in a blind taste test, I just would have guessed it was chicken and sauce. The portion was good. It was filling and thick and hearty. I won't be buying this one again. I've had other freeze dried meals that tasted good, so this one won't make it back into my menu. Full review

Beef Stroganoff

rated 4 of 5 stars I admit to having limited experience with backpacking type foods, but I purchased this product and one of a different brand and was amazed at the difference in the two. Mountain House (MH) was by far a better product in both taste and appearance. This product would easily be a satisfying meal on the trail or in the bunker and I would recommend MH as the go to for anyone who loves Beef Stroganoff. I purchased this product and one of a different brand and was amazed at the difference in the two. The… Full review

Chicken Teriyaki with Rice Pro-Pak

rated 2.5 of 5 stars A quick and filling meal for a backpacking adventure. Could be a little tastier My son and I took this item on a backpacking adventure to use as our dinner. I like the fact that the item is vacuum packed and dried so it weighs almost nothing. It uses boiling water to re-hydrate and prepare so that makes it a snap. It was a simple process to prepare this meal and I was looking forward to it. However, when I opened the packaging it was LOADED with RED PEPPERS!!! Why is it that manufactures insist… Full review

Sweet & Sour Pork with Rice Pro-Pak

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Seems to really hit the spot when you're cold, hungry, and tired. I initially had low expectations, but after heating it up I was surprised how good it tasted. Sure this isn't gourmet food, but after a long, cold day it exceeded my expectations. Neither my wife nor I are particularly picky eaters, so we were both rather pleased. The pork was tender, it had a fair number of vegetables, and the combination of sweet, sour, and salty hit the spot. The rice reconstituted well, but was a little gluey… Full review
