Nikwax Nubuck & Suede Proof

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Essential waterproofing treatment for Nubuck and Suede leather. Key in it's function is that being water based, Nikwax products typically "go where the water goes". The chemistry here works great! The product wicks into wettable areas and waterproofs them! It is thus self regulating with the leather taking up just as much as needed. Like other Nikwax products this product the application method also cleans during the treatment process. Applied to laces this particular product also helps shed trail… Full review

Nikwax Conditioner for Leather

rated 5 of 5 stars An ESSENTIAL tool for real world use of leather, such as boots used in the outdoors (works well on indoor shoes too). Restores supple feel and flexibility to dry leather gear. Restores water proofing without hurting the gear. Neutral color, but does increase the color present giving a darkening effect to the leather. Works with Gore Tex and eVent waterproof membrane boots. Nikwax Conditioner for Leather label for bottle used in this review. My wife scored a nice Lowa Albula GTX boot deal this fall… Full review

Gear Aid ReviveX Leather Gel Water Repellent & Conditioner

rated 1 of 5 stars This product simply does not work. $12 at Sports Authority and an entire bottle of it did NOTHING to make a hat rain repellant. Completely worthless product (except it costs $12). There are other less expensive brands that probably DO work. This product does not work. Sprayed the product on a fur felt hat and let it dry. The rain soaked the hat. Prima facie that the product does not work. The can says it works on jackets, hats, shoes, waders, tents, and packs. Maybe you need to use five or six cans… Full review

Atsko Sno-Seal

rated 5 of 5 stars For chrome-tanned boots, I've never found anything better to keep the water out. It's hard to beat LoneStranger's review of Sno-Seal! I've only used it on my hiking and climbing boots, so I can't testify to its use on belts and jackets. If it's as good on these other applications as it is on boots, It must be greater than I even thought. I started using Sno-Seal in the mid '60s when I got into serious mountaineering — this really was the only thing available besides silicone liquids which were… Full review

Atsko Sno-Seal

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Beeswax based leather treatment. Waterproofs and conditions leather. Great for boots, motorcycle leathers and other gear exposed to the elements. Sno-Seal has been my go-to leather treatment for decades primarily on leather boots and motorcycle jackets.  The beeswax based product is listed by Atsko as suitable for waxed cotton and for tent seams, but I have never used it for those purposes. In my experience the product is best applied to warm leather as heat softens the wax and makes it easier… Full review

Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP

rated 5 of 5 stars Fantastic product for keeping your leather well conditioned. Full review

Kenetrek Waterproofing Boot Wax

rated 4 of 5 stars Great leather treatment for boots! Good boots are perhaps the most important gear any outdoors-man/woman will ever own. Good boots are a significant investment so it is important to maintain your boots for longevity and functionality.   I treat my leather boots fairly regularly. I have mainly used Nikwax and Himalaya Wax in the past. I also used to use mink oil. The Nikwax and Himalaya Wax worked well but they seemed to leave a visible waxy coating on the surface of the boots that would crack and… Full review

Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP

rated 5 of 5 stars The best. If we were in Hawaii this would be "da kine". I've been dealing with the same shoe repair shop for over 30 years. He sold me a jar of this stuff way back. Never looked back. Simply put: Obenauf's LP is the BEST treatment for leather. Boots, belts, wallets, whatever. My climbing boots are 37 years old, and it seems I'll be able to get another season or two out of them. My Wesco Jobmasters are 10 or 12 years old, and still in excellent condition. I come home with dry feet, even after cutting… Full review

Tectron Sno-Seal Waterproofing

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This product is excellent. I have used this on my boots a lot during the rainy season here in Oregon (so 9 months out of the year). I haven't found any weaknesses of the product as of yet, but i will write them down when I find some, if I find some. I recommend this to anyone. I've used the Sno-Seal in snow, rain, sleet, and all type of wet weather. It hasn't failed me thus far and I trust it a lot. It snows a lot where I live and I like to use my logging boots as snow boots because they are comfortable. Full review
