Lunar Duo

rated 4.5 of 5 stars VERY roomy, lightweight two-person tent. I've had this tent for about a year now, and I'm very happy with it. I previously had a Mountain Hardwear Hammerhead 3, which was bombproof but huge and heavy. The Lunar Duo does the job at less than half the weight (3 pounds vs 8). I bought the "Explorer," the sil-nylon version. Setup: Pretty straightforward, but it takes a bit of practice, especially if you're doing it alone. I usually have to take a couple passes at the stake-out points and guy lines before… Full review

Skyscape Trekker

rated 5 of 5 stars Beginning to bridge the gap to light weight with this fantastic, well ventilated, hybrid tent. Packs down smaller than any one-man tent I've seen and uses your trekking poles. Extra room is good for larger person or like me usually claustrophobic in tight spaces. I watched the setup video on SixMoonDesigns.com website several times before pitching and it is relatively straightforward, simple. Using your trekking poles, need to adjust it to get even, symmetrical pitch. Material does stretch out after… Full review

Skyscape Trekker

rated 5 of 5 stars Light, good cost-per-weight ratio, strong, large. I used this tent in the Sierras on a Rae Lakes Loop for 5 days. The tent is very light but feels very solid once pitched. Pitching the tent is easy once you get the hang of it. The area above your head is a double-wall and above your feet is a single wall, so condensation was a slight issue with it dripping down at the edge where your feet are. One vestibule is behind a wall with no entrance, so it is impossible to access from inside the tent. It… Full review

Wild Oasis

rated 5 of 5 stars At 14 ounces after being seam sealed it's like carrying nothing, in comparison to those ultralight 3 pound tents. Yet this tarp functions with the best of them. It doesn't come with a floor but because I always use a ground cloth under the floor of my tent the floor here is not missed. Just returned from my first trip with this tarp/tent and was very impressed. The bottom of the silnylon has mesh attached all the way around it which cantalevers inward you then lay your ground cloth on it forming… Full review

Lunar Solo (e)

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Excellent shelter for an extended backpacking trip. Simple, lightweight protection from the elements and bugs. Lunar Solo from Six Moon Designs The Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo is a very well designed and lightweight tent for backpackers. It performs all the functions of a tent (shelter from weather, protection from insects, etc.), at the weight of a tarp.   I used a 2009 model Lunar Solo on my thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) that year. It protected me from sun in the desert, snow in… Full review
