"The Tour COR-TEC AS Trekking Poles are part of LEKI's Trail series. With such a confusing name, its hard to figure out which one to choose when shopping for a hiking pole. The COR-TEC refers to the grip part of the pole that is made from a highly technical cork that resists water and is incredibly durable. The AS refers to the Anti-shock system that Leki puts into their poles to help absorb shock as you walk or trek. With a combination of steel spring and elastomer you get no rebound effect or noise, and the AS reduces stress on joints and ligaments. If you are trekking up a steep hill and need more of a stable pole, you can deactivate the spring in order to make more of a solid placement."
