Fieldline Alpha OPS Daypack

rated 4 of 5 stars Good, basic bag. Comfortable to carry, roomy interior. Good for EDC, day hikes, or Get Home Bag in car or office. Good for a beginner who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a starter bag. I picked up this bag last year from Amazon. I was looking for a black tactical-looking daypack to replace one I had worn out. This Fieldline Alpha Ops Daypack was a decent replacement for the price. It's not my every day bag but it's getting decent use. As soon as I got it last year, I loaded it up and took… Full review

Trekking Pole Set

rated 2 of 5 stars I bought this set to see if I prefer them over my staff. I liked the price. The shock absorbers are a plus. This is a good beginner set. I have never used trekking poles before. I bought this set at WalMart to see if I would like them. They seemed to work OK. I tried this set out at a prvate college trail system. The handles are hard plastic and after two miles rubbed a hot spot on my hands. They worked good at stream crossing and poorly on slick rock. A good friend is on his third set of this brand. Mist

rated 4 of 5 stars A great value-for-money day pack; well designed with excellent construction and materials. I had been looking for a multi purpose daypack for some time and had just got to thinking that I would have to make my own when this turned up in a warehouse sale. It met all requirements for day activities, Tenkara fishing, traditional fly fishing, day and short hikes. With UL tarp and gear I can even overnight at a pinch in summer. I have never had a hydration pack before and now realize that a couple… Full review

Smartphone Watertight Case

rated 2 of 5 stars Storage case to protect your cell phone from water and damage while backpacking. This was purchased for me as a gift. The idea behind it is great, however, it's bulky and hard to open and close. I clipped it to my pack and found it to slam back and forth all over the place while hiking. It added more weight than I wanted for a protective cover. The two closures are not easy to open up or snap closed. Full review

Vortex 8.0

rated 2 of 5 stars Not for long term use. My husband uses this for taking his lunch and a few other things into the plant he works in. Before it was in use for a year, the middle zipper is broken and even after leaving voice messages and emails with the company, I have gotten no response to a warranty repair. The company has a lifetime warranty and does not seem to want to honor it. By the way, the middle zipper is the one he uses least. Full review
