Herman Men's Survivor

rated 0.5 of 5 stars These are the worst boots ever. I paid top dollar for a pair and went to a junk yard to pull an engine. Fell apart and had to strap wires and seat belt parts to hold it together. With the straps holding it together, they have held up for a year now. Junk yard guy was so amused at my boots he gave me the old straps to keep my Frankenstein shoes together. I am stubborn and want my money out of these boots, I did that in less than an hour, the Japanese parts are lasting much longer. Horrible fit Terrible… Full review

Herman Men's Survivor

rated 5 of 5 stars Bought a pair of these on clearance from Walmart seven or eight years ago. They have been the BEST BOOT EVER!!! The poor reviews I am reading absolutely astonish me! My husband loved these boots so much, I've been searching for days online trying to find him a new pair for Christmas. If anyone knows where to get a size 11 Herman Survivors Big Buck 5305714 boot in a size 11, give me a shout. Full review

Asolo Yukon

rated 5 of 5 stars Purchased in 1989 for a hike in the Himalayas. Re-soled them several years ago. Still the best fitting boot/shoe I own. My boots still feel great after 25 years of usage. They needed to be resoled once, but given the mileage and terrain covered, fully expected and worth it. My hikes are not as demanding as they used to be, but my feet are much more particular. These boots have molded to my feet, and I am hoping that I never need to buy another pair as they are very comfortable and provide excellent… Full review

Limmer Men's Light-Weight

rated 3.5 of 5 stars These are not the custom masterpieces that have made Limmer boots the best in the world. They are very well made, but are imported from Germany. If they fit, then you're going to love them. If they don't fit, then you're SOL. I hike almost daily in a pair of Limmer boots that I had custom made for me 35 years ago, and they're still going strong. The off-the-shelf Limmer boots being reviewed here are not made by Limmer, they are imported from Germany under his close supervision. I know this from… Full review

Rugged Outback Waterproof Hikers

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Lasted less than two months before they stared to fall apart. Had to replace them in less than 4 months. Full review

Vasque Montana

rated 5 of 5 stars I bought a pair in 1987. I got WIDEs. They are in my opinion "the best" boot. They broke in with no blisters and were tough as nails. Solid heavy boot. I wore the soles out way before the boot and the resole job was not done well and they were never the same. If I could get another pair I would go for it tomorrow at any cost. I moved to other Vasque products over the years and they were OK with the early Sundowners, but over the years like everyone else in this world they moved to cheap materials,… Full review

Limmer Men's Light-Weight

rated 3 of 5 stars Out of the box these are beautiful boots. Their quality construction is immediately evident. But they are not for people with wide feet Taking these out of the box you'll be amazed at the quality of the materials and construction. They look like they should be on display in a boot museum. It was love at first sight for me. This disillusionment came later. I bought these for dayhiking, mostly on rough trails, and for backpacking. I’ve generally had trouble finding boots that fit. I have a wide… Full review

Scarpa Men's Barun GTX

rated 5 of 5 stars I have been wearing these Scarpa type boots for over nine years now. I am very hard on boots. Walmart type boots last 3 months. These boots last me three years wearing them every day in outdoors physical work. I wore these boots out. The soles were worn through (Vibram), the sides were coming apart, and yet they are still bone dry inside. Seven months ago I bought another pair. These boots just keep on preforming. Best boots I have ever owned. I am on my third pair now. I work with a Church Boy… Full review

Lowa Hunter GTX Extreme

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent boot that had proven to be tremendously durable. I received these boots as a gift some years back. I believe I've been using them as my go-to boot for twelve years now. They are definitely showing signs of wear and I expect to replace them before my next hunt. My most recent hunt was in the Colorado high country in October. Temps were cold and there was a little snow. As usual, my hunters kept my feet dry and warm. The vibram sole is stiff and it makes archery stalks more challenging. Full review
