Belleville 310

rated 2 of 5 stars This is a great fitting, comfortable, lighter weight hiking boot that falls short on durability and short on the manufacturer's claims. I actually bought these boots for my work. I usually average about 5 miles a day walking trails, gravel/dirt roads, and some paved walkways. Like most people I was looking for something comfortable and well fitting, lighter weight, durable, with good support and traction. I was also wanting an affordable "made in USA" boot. I settled on these and had them shipped… Full review

Limmer Men's Light-Weight

rated 1 of 5 stars Trust your gut instinct. If you think they're too tight, don't buy them despite what they say about the break-in process. There's no turning back once you try to start breaking them in and you'll be out a lot of money and some toenails to boot. Advertised as the best hiking boot of all time, and it very well could be, as long as the fit is right. I went to the shop in Intervale and had my feet measured. I have been backpacking for almost 20 years and have always worn size 11 boots. I was told that… Full review

Meindl Perfekt

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Bad quality control, awful customer service. There are two problems with Meindl boots as I see it: There are plenty of dud boots out there — Meindl's quality control department seems to be awful. I bought a pair, and the midsole started cracking amazingly quickly at the ball of the foot, where the boot is supposed to flex. I couldn't believe it given their reputation. If you get a dud, then you're on your own because Meindl customer service is as bad as their quality control. They'll just pass… Full review

Oboz Men's Wind River

rated 5 of 5 stars Best boots I've owned. I bought two pair in reserve on clearance for 85 bucks each. These are fantastic boots unless it is wet, then be very careful on rocks.  I tried the Wind River IIs and they weren't right, if you know what I mean, whereas these were perfect the moment i put them on. I stumbled on some  of the last ones from Oboz and grabbed them at about half the price of any other decent boots. If you live in a dry climate, you will love these. They grip amazingly. If you live in a wet climate,… Full review

Crispi Nevada GTX

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Possibly the WORST ITALIAN MADE BOOT since well.... Italy has made boots!!! Now owned by the gentlemen (Our Friendly Confidants & Capitalists ) @Camofire.com and @BlackOvis.com. Not only are these fellows closing local shops with their one off major brand sales, they are also the NEW North American Distributor for Crispi Boots. This has proven to be a disaster in the past and will continue now that they are a direct to customer model for $500 plus boots. These boots have proven themselves a… Full review

Asolo Men's TPS 520 GV

rated 5 of 5 stars Backpacking and hiking boot for anyone who needs a good solid, sturdy boot, to avoid a rolled ankle. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants to guarantee they can hit any terrain with confidence. I purchased a pair of these for the South Coast Track down in Tasmania, Australia. An 85km (52 miles) track that goes over some very harsh terrain, from mountains to deep rainforest. These boots did not disappoint me. They were comfortable from the start, waterproof (unless of course your entire foot… Full review

Meindl Perfekt

rated 5 of 5 stars You cannot go wrong. I have several hiking boots from other manufacturers, Lowa, Hanwag, Danner, Zamberlan and the Meindl Perfekt is the toughest built boot I have owned. It is very comfortable right out of the box. Never a blister, never a hot spot. I wear them to work in the office and never take them off. So for 12-hour days at work and take long walks at lunch, I love these boots. You cannot go wrong. Dallas TexasDean Full review

Scarpa SL Active

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A solid boot for the mountains, marshes, and mayhem. As a hiking guide in Banff National Park I needed a boot that was comfy, had good ankle support, and was virtually indestructible. If you water proof these boots properly they will become just that. I just wish I could say that about the insides, but then again the would not have been as comfy. So after 5 years I replaced these boots with the exact same boot. Don't ever stop making them. Asolo Men's TPS 520 GV

rated 1 of 5 stars Asolo are supposedly a top brand boot, and my last pair lasted 14 years of some multi-day trips. The current boots are a poor reflection on what was a great product My first pair of Asolos lasted 14 years with one replacement sole. Great boots! Many multi-day tramps and summits. I bought my next pair in 2013. Beautiful boots with great traction, comfort, and support.  I always dried, cleaned and G-waxed them after every trip. However after two years of use, mainly day tramps in New Zealand, the… Full review
