Herman Men's Survivor

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Owned for 13 days. Split toe from sole of shoe. Returned to Walmart. Would NOT refund, would NOT REPLACE. Herman Survivors are no longer guaranteed and are definitely NOT returnable. DO NOT BUY. Factory owned by Walmart and moved to CHINA. I have purchased Herman Survivor boots for years. Noticed last pair only lasted 4 months but purchased another pair at Walmart. Wore for 10 days and toe split from sole of shoe.  I packed up shoes and returned to store. Had receipt. It was obvious shoes were… Full review

Rugged Outback Waterproof Hikers

rated 4 of 5 stars These shoes are great for anyone who wants a durable and comfortable shoe. I have used these shoes for both backpacking trips and short hikes, and they worked well on all the trips. I recommend these for any avid hiker or backpacker as a comfortable shoe! I found these in my basement after a couple of years and they fit so I kept them. They are very good shoes that are extremely comfortable to wear, and they work well in the field. Working in the outdoor industry I am constantly on the search for… Full review

Danner Mountain Light II

rated 1 of 5 stars The heel cup can cause severe problems. My first pair of MLIIs (vintage early 1990s) never gave me a problem and I wore them out, so I recently bought a new pair directly from the Danner store in Portland, where they're made. After about 150 miles, they began to cause painful agony and I can no longer wear them. The internal heel cup inside the liner digs into the back of my left, outside ankle bone making every step extremely painful. The plastic cup is now thicker, higher and harder than in the… Full review

Scarpa Trionic

rated 5 of 5 stars Outstanding boots!!! I have had mine since 2001!! I've had mine since 2001 — and they performed perfectly on a 28-day mountaineering/whitewater expedition (21 days in the mountains) I took with Outward Bound in Idaho. No break-in, they were comfortable from the first day. And I didn't get any blisters, something my teammates had to deal with daily. And today, I used them on my adventure motorcycle trips. These boots are awesome!!  Full review

Zamberlan Men's 760 Steep GT

rated 5 of 5 stars Serious backpacking boot with little break-in needed. Very roomy toebox, warm, watertight, and stylish to boot. What's not to like? These are the best hiking boots I've ever owned, which I hoped for and expected. I have very flat, slightly wide feet and wear dress shoes anywhere from 10.5E to 12D/E. I ordered both this boot and the Zamberlan 996 Vioz GT in size 11.5M US. The Vioz was a touch tight and narrow, with a somewhat small toebox. These 760 Steep GT, on the other hand, fit beautifully, with… Full review

Hi-Tec Kids' Magnum Tanker

rated 5 of 5 stars Most comfortable footwear I've ever worn. I'd love to find another pair! I found the boots in a Youth size. The fit was perfect for me. The boots were not authorized by the U.S. Army, but I blacked out the logo and wore them anyway for several years, in the field and in garrison. They were sturdy, supportive, relatively lightweight (and took a nice shine), and far more comfortable on long, hard days than any issue boots I ever had. I even wore them under a formal skirt when performing with a vocal… Full review

Limmer Men's Standard

rated 5 of 5 stars Well constructed full leather boot for anyone willing to make an investment in a boot that will last decades. Perfect for hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, or any activity in which support and traction are important. I received my Limmer Standards as a gift towards the end of 2013 and have had them on my feet for most of the time since then.  Comfort and Fit: Like any New Hampshire relationship, it takes a long time for Limmers to become comfortable with your feet. But with steady determination… Full review

Alico Summit

rated 5 of 5 stars Classic leather boot. Alico seems not to be phased by the countless companies that moved their manufacturing to China, Thailand, etc and changed the way they made their boots. Seem to have a strong devotion to traditional craftsmanship. These are a very strong, very heavy durable and good looking boot. There aren't too many boots made like these anymore. They are a tad on the heavy side if you are not used to it, but that's what you are getting with this style of boot. I'd definitely recommend these… Full review

Vasque Men's St. Elias GTX

rated 4 of 5 stars Takes a little breaking in. The boot does a wonderful job supporting my foot. After I changed the lacing (I have high arches) they are the best boot I have found for backpacking. They are waterproof so they can get a bit warm in hot weather, it is a very well made boot and I do suggest getting a pair. Full review
