Style PS

rated 4 of 5 stars At 1.6 oz, the Style PS is an ultralight multi-tool that has EVERYTHING a hiker could want…except a knife blade. (Oops!) Let me start with a story… I am in the St. Louis REI, with an hour to kill before a flight to Boulder, CO. I am staring at a wall of multi-tools—Leatherman, Gerber, Swiss—way too many choices. What I really want to find is a sub-3oz tool with both pliers and scissors. After 45 minutes of comparison shopping, I select the Style PS and head to the airport. A few hours later,… Full review

LED Lenser SEO7 Headlamp

rated 5 of 5 stars 160 lumens of rechargeable power, multiple light functions, water resistant and light enough for most applications, best light out there in my opinion. Variable beam, adjustable focus, 5-hour burn time on 200 lumens, 20 hours on 20 lumens, water resistant, 3-1/2 hours to recharge battery, will take triple AAA batteries as well. Full review

Squirt PS4

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Though small in size, this is still a serious tool. It is well-made and has the diminutive heft of pocket-sized tool that is meant to be more than an ornament. Its chief limitation is its size, which is also its chief virtue. An excellent option for small repair jobs, removing a hot pot from a fire, or similar tasks. Great for everyday carry as well as backpacking. The quest for the perfect backpacking multi-tool is one in which many of my friends have engaged. Trying to find the perfect balance… Full review

Style CS

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Leatherman Style CS is an inexpensive, good quality basic multi-tool. It comes with a knife, scissors, tweezers, nail file, flat screw driver and bottle opener that fits easily in your pocket or clips onto your pack so you can quickly find it when needed. A while back I was re-evaluating my gear, looking for ways to reduce what I carry. I came across three pieces (a small folding knife, tweezers and scissors) that I don’t use often and always carry. I wondered if I could find a small multi-tool… Full review

Sidekick

rated 5 of 5 stars Another great Leatherman tool. I always wear it on the weekends and it is incredible handy. This is just a fantastic tool. Relatively inexpensive, contains a very useful set of tools. I like how the saw and the knife can be accessed without opening the tool. The pliers are also very high quality. The leather sleeve is kind of useless (for me anyway). I much prefer to use the clip or a nylon belt sheath. I use the tool around the house as well as when I camp (the can opener works great!).
