Tachyon Anorak

rated 4 of 5 stars Ultra light wind shirt, great protection, folds up tiny, not superb on breathability. Construction: I can be short with this review — The Tachyon anorak is one of the lightest, if not the lightest, wind shirts on the market. A size Large weighs in at 69 grams.  It folds up the size of a kiwi.  The (very) thin ballistic nylon the Tachyon is made of is very strong. I have worn this for two years, weekly. Not a rip or frayed piece of fabric. Only some discolouration from dirt etc. A friend of… Full review

U.L. Spiral Down Hugger #1

rated 5 of 5 stars Warmth-to-weight is amazing as always with Montbell. Stretchy design makes sleeping easy for even the tossiest and turniest of us. Bought mine a while back in Japan and can say after 20+ years of buying bags this is the ultimate bag in my arsenal. Light, warm, stretchy, and packs down to very little, especially if you use a compression sack. You really can't go wrong with anything from Montbell, but their bags are unreal. Check any and all reviews and they all say the same. Full review

Alpine Light Down Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Fantastic lightweight jacket. The hood is the only difference from the parka. Warmth-to-weight is the best...and I've bought a bunch of gear. Windproof just this side of a gale. Pockets are warm—down is to the outside. I bought two and the alpine vest for myself. And also Xmas gifts to my hunt buddy and his wife. Hunt between 3k'-10k'. The internal waist hem adj is super—no dangling cords to catch on everything. I wear a lightweight softshell to protect it in scrubby terrain and to camo the… Full review

Alpine Light Down Parka

rated 5 of 5 stars For a very warm, well-made, very lighweight down parka, you'd search far and wide to do better than this one. Wonderful, effective hood. Easily a great parka for winter backpackers and climbers, but also for normal people who just want to stay warm in the winter. This is a beautiful-looking and well designed parka. Nice fleece lined pockets (though, oddly, the fleece is only on one side), nicely tailored with a very functional and warm hood. Last night I took a walk when it was 10° F. Under the… Full review

Highland Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars I have had this jacket for only a short time, but with the warmth and durability it has replaced my other brand that has 3 times the bulk. With a short sleeve t-shirt I am comfortable well in the 20-degree range. I will have to say that this jacket is well worth the money. In my area I have to travel for 2 hours or order online to find Montbell products, but i find it worth the time. This jacket has great warmth and very low bulk. It packs down to not much more than the size of a 12 oz. can.  Full review
