The lands bill actually is big news in Nevada because we are gaining title to around 130,000 acres of public land through exchanges. Since we have a state with 87 % Federal ownership, it is tough to operate around towns like Yerington. A new copper mine is about to open providing lots of jobs. This is the other side of the coin.

In the last 50 years we have passed many lands bills in Congress and added greatly to the Wilderness System. For many states, we are about to  reach diminishing returns. The areas highlighted in Gary's article look like they should be part of the wilderness system.

Sounds like a win for the environment.  I hope everything goes great with the added protection
