Will glycerin in soap compromise waterproofing?

I need to wash some waterproof coats before re-treating them, and obviously I don't want to use detergent. By far the cheapest and most convenient option where I live, given shipping costs and other factors, seems to be to buy some bars of household soap and use that to wash the coats. However this soap contains glycerin. Will the glycerin compromise the waterproofing?
