All I need is some kind of fastener to keep my snow pants from riding up while walking through deep snow. I've been looking at some low gaiters (Lowe, Salomon), but they seem more than I need, since no debris, snow, ice, etc. is going to get into my Baffin Arctics. What's the best option to just keep my shell pants down?

Sew on a webbing strap that will go under your foot to keep them down. When I was a kid 50 years ago in upstate New York, my snow pants had one built-in. Surprised they don't still make them that way?

Like the strap's on the bottom of these gaiters...

Yes, that occurred  to me, too, Gary! That's what I'll probably end up doing. Thanks for the note.

You could also sew something less substantial, but like that, to the inside of the pants, so it could go under your foot, but inside your boots, like the stirrup pants that used to be popular for women.

Ah! Another good idea! Thanks, DrP.

I got my Baffin boots today and they are a good 14" high, so no gaiters needed!
