Got some time off this week to head out for some snow fun. Little unprepared as it came together last minute, and I forgot snowshoes (it was two feet deep at some spots) but still better than time spent indoors. Also thought I could get away with bringing my -7C three season sleeping bag.....I couldn't.  Spent a couple nights in full clothing inside the bag. Whoops. Gotta love the Trailspace merino beanie though!

Awesome, Jake! I'm very jealous of your feet of snow. Send some to Maine, please, and have fun.

I'm sure it'll be there soon enough, Alicia!

Soon enough would have been a month ago. When I was a kid in upstate NY, we almost always had enough snow for snowmobiling by my birthday (Nov 8.) I'd like to be snowshoeing by my birthday!

My b-day came and went and still no snow...which is a real bummer as snowshoeing is my favorite outdoor activity.

47 of the last 52 days have been well above normal temperatures here and more are coming.  The ground isn't even close to freezing so I'm with Alicia...I'm jealous :)

I heat my house in Illinois 100% with firewood. NORMALLY, I burn through the first cord by mid-November (with November 27 being the record).

Today is December 23, and I still have at least 5 days of wood left in the first cord. We haven't had a fire going for the last 3 days. It's 64F today.

62 here and rising. Actually warmer out than in. Friends in Binghamton NY say it is 65 and the same in Wilmington NY.

I heard the Tug Hill area near Watertown got 3 ft of snow last weekend-if so that will be one melting, flooding mess now.

The snow is rolling in today with 32 and 2. Thirty seven inches at the local ski area 3 days ago. We are working on a drought buster.

That December storm and that big January storm went around us and we have no snow yet, the ground is mostly bare. Might get an inch or two in the next day or so.
